BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER (LEI SIU LUNG) will be released nation wide on November 25. In the film Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) played Bruce Lee, while Tony Leung Ka Fai and Christy Chung Lai Tai played Bruce Lee's parents.
Because Bruce Lee's mother Ho Oi Yu had mixed heritage, the role had to be Chung Lai Tai. Chung Lai Tai felt very excited to be able to make another film but her Cantonese has worsen and memorizing lines was very difficult. Sometimes she would deliver a pile of lines and thought that she was very successful, but no one on the set understood what she was saying. However she was very lucky to play a couple with Ka Fai because Ka Fai was a very attentive "husband" and took great care of her. He was more gentle off camera than on camera. Christy felt that he absolutely was 100% model good husband.
Ka Fai said that when he found out about the character, he immediately agreed because he thought being able to play Bruce Lee's father Lee Hoi Chuen was his honor. Lee Chi Ting even continuously praised Ka Fai for helping him a lot. Due to his lack of experience, he was worried that he would embarrass himself in front of this Best Actor. However after working together, whenever he came up short Ka Fai would advise him with a lot of attention and did not blame him once. He was very touched and never imagined the big actor would have no arrogance at
all.
In one scene the Lee family was very cheerful during the New Year, as many film stars came to play mahjong at the Lee home. Cheung Tat Ming (as Fung Fung), Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui (as Ko Lo Chuen), Candy Yu On On (as Mrs. Cho Tat Wa), Kristy Yang Kung Yu (as Mui Kei) and others guest starred. Producer Manfred Wong (Man Jun) even permitted his own daughter
to play the child star Petrina Fung Bo Bo. They were all salutes to the 50s Hong Kong film industry.
