[ HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ]
    Not Louis Malle's classic but the latest from director Sylvia Chang who, after years of absence from the helm, digs deep into her Taiwanese roots to tell a story about growing up, and letting go. Isabella Leong plays an uncertain painter, Mei, who drifted apart from her tour guide brother after leaving Liudau, the off-shore island of Taiwan, with their mother. Mei falls for an underachieving boxer, and begins years of soul searching in the city, where the siblings reunite under unexpected circumstances. What was remembered and forgotten are lessons that have profound consequences in this emotional drama.

  Parasytes enter into human brains via ear canal and take control of their bodies. One of the parasytes tries to enter into teenager Shinichi Izumi's brain, but is blocked because of his headphones. Instead, it invades his right hand. Shinichi calls it Migi, which has now an eye and a mouth. Accepting the fact that one would die if another dies, they join forces against other parasites. Parasytes kill humans and humans kill Parasytes in return. It becomes all-out war. But nothing is black and white in this struggle. Which is it that ought to win? The planet needs to be preserved yet it is in our nature to protect our loved ones. Amidst this conflict of values, Shinichi and Migi have no choice but to hurl themselves into the fight against the ever more complex attack of the Parasytes.
