The third First Feature Film Initiative party and award ceremony took place yesterday. Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publishing Legislative Council member Ma Fung Kwok, director Felix Chong Man Keung, Wong Chun, actresses Charmaine Fong Ho Man and Hedwig Tam Sin Yin attended. Ma Fung Kwok said that the first FFFI higher education institution group's two winners both performed well. WEEDS ON FIRE (DIM NG BO) had an ideal box office performance, while MAD WORLD (YUT LIM MO MING) won the Best New Director and Best Supporting Actress Golden Horse Awards. He looked forward to this initiative to continue to attract even more creative filmmakers with more production abilities, to achieve the goals of assisting the younger generation and promoting Hong Kong film industry's long term development goal.
Fong Ho Man said that she has already attended the event twice. Although the film production government financial assistance was only HK$ 1 to 2 million, she too hoped that it would help the film industry to promote Hong Kong domestically produced films. Last year she participated in MAD WORLD, which received HK$ 2 million government financial assistance. The film was completely in 16 days. Even though the production was rushed, the team did not complain at all. The entire team united to finish the production, which memorable for her. "Everyone's centripetal force was very strong. I am event happier about the great response. (Elaine) Kam Yin Ling also won a Supporting Actress award, the director worked on several other jobs and was responsible for editing. Everyone just bit down and grind through it."
Speaking of Shawn Yue Man Lok not taking a salary, what about her? Fong Ho Man sad that since other people did not take a salary either, she of course would not dare to. She even had to thank director Chong Man Keung for his recommendation. As for her film dream, she said, "Actors are very passive. I only want to learn even more. When I have a chance I would properly take advantage of it!"
Tam Sin Yin shaved her head to play a cancer patient for the film ADIEU (GO BIT JI JIN), but yesterday she wore a wig. She revealed that in one scene Jason Chan Pak Yu had to bathe her and she had to bare her back for the performance. She shaved her head as a sacrifice for art, but the script and character requirements would determine how sexy she would be.
