MIRROR member Jer Lau Ying Ting is the lead actor of the new film FINE DYING (BUT DUT BUT HO SEI, tentative title). After filming earlier in Iceland, the art director Cheung Man's directing debut film recently held a production start ceremony in Hong Kong. The cast in addition to Jer was star studded, including Eason Chan Yik Shun, Athena Chu Yan and Taiwan star Kelly Lin (Lam Hei Lui) who have not appeared on the Hong Kong big screen for a long time, as well as Michael Ning (Bak Ji) and Sheena Chan Shu Yan. Chan Yik Shun and Chu Yan's previous film releases were in 2018. This time they played Jer's parents in the film. Lam Hei Lui would star in the Hong Kong film again since the 2009 film WRITTEN BY (JOI SUN HO). The production team gave special thanks to the 3 heavyweight actors for agreeing to perform and physically supporting Hong Kong film.
Jer ushered in a big breakthrough in the film, playing the role of a patient with rare melanoma skin cancer. In order to perfectly present the characteristics of dark spots all over his body and face, he had to accept spending a long time in special effect makeup every day. When asked whether there will be pressure on this performance, Jer said that the role was adapted from a true story of a cancer fighter who has been told that he would die earlier and co-exist with cancer for a long tine instead. The basis for the character provided a lot of reference so that he could grasp the role even easier, so it is not too much pressure. He also thanked the director for "calling in many favors" and inviting many elders to help, and was very happy with fulfilling his dream of working with his idol Chan Yik Shun. "The director has invited so many pretty and sharp elders to take part in this fil, every one is great at acting. From them I have learned a lot I am very happy to be able to work with Eason. I have looked forward to that in music for a long time already, but this time I finally have a first collaboration. He even plays my Papa!"
