Carlos Chan Ka Lok recently took many new film roles. Earlier he missed the premiere of his film HOUSE OF THE RISING SONS (HING DAI BAN). He suddenly had an idea and invited fans to apply for a showing at the cinema. He said, "I haven't organized such an event since I got into the business. Originally I thought 50 people would be enough, but on the first day the quota was already reached. So I changed venue at the last minute and rented a cinema with over 100 capacity. It really was sold out, leaving only the front row. So I sat there myself." Ka Lok said that watching the film with fans felt different. "Our response was huge. They would laugh with you, cry with you, their support was sincere." Earlier he also did a flash promotion on the streets of Mongkok with other actors. After just one song they were already surrounded. The crew immediately arranged for them to leave in a hurry.

Veteran artist Stephen Tsang Kwong Chin passed away on the 22nd from liver cancer at age 70. His wife confirmed the news. Active in the film industry in the 80s, he participated in films like DOUBLE TROUBLE (DAI SIU BUK LEUNG), WHY ME? (HOR BI YAU NGOR) and THE CRAZY COMPANIES (JUI GAI SUEN YAU) and worked with superstars like Chow Yun Fat, Kara Wai Ying Hung and Chingmy Yau Suk Ching. He mostly played minor characters in the film. He once operated a film developing company and was familiar with many industry insiders.

Ken Low Wai Kwong expressed regret over his friend's passing. "He is absolutely the nicest guy, the best boss in all Hong Kong. He had the respect of 100% of the film industry! He really liked to have a few drinks with friends. Later he moved to Shenzhen and occasionally would come back for dinner." Once a partner in a bar, artist Duen Wai Lun was shocked to hear the news. "The last time I saw him was around the end of last year, at the time he was pretty good, only thinner." Director Jingle Ma Chor Sing have known Tsang Kwong Chin for years and praised his loyalty. Back then if filmmakers owed money to their film developing, he would not mind.

The film INTEGRITY (LIM JING FUNG BO YIN MOK) yesterday held a wrap banquet. Boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing, producer Huang Bin, Felix Chong Man Keung and director Alan Mak Siu Fai, actors Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Sean Lau Ching Wan, Kathy Yuen (Tong Yi), Carlos Chan Ka Lok and Deep Ng Ho Hong attended.

The last time Cheung Ka Fai and Chng Wan worked together was already five years ago. He said that he was the most comfortable with Ching Wan. Ching Wan joked, "Because I have to do it all!" Ka Fai answered, "Because when we work together, Ching Wan would open up and show me his heart. It's very naked!" Speaking of Ka Fai working on location for a month in Australia for "on the run" scene while Ching Wan remained in Hong Kong for the studio shoot, Ching Wan pretended to be upset and joked, "We were pinching pennies in Hong Kong, what more do you have to say!" Ka Fai also joked, "When I got back I called Ching Wan, he said that he was at work everyday to make money for me to spend."

Lau Ching Wan and Karena Lam Ka Yun worked together for the first time. In the film they played ICAC investigators and a couple, while Cheung Ka Fai was the informant. However Ching Wan joked that Ka Fai actually would be more suitable to play ICAC because he had no secret. In the film Ka Fai and Ka Yun had more scenes together. Ching Wan said that he was jealous because he and Ka Yun had a few scenes of opening fire over the phone. However the director asked for a reserved method for the performance and he could not get mad. He would say something vicious and damaging, such deeply layered scenes were very suitable for him to play. In real life he and his wife Amy Kwok Oi Ming were very loving. Normally they rarely argued. Was getting into character hard for him? Ching Wan said, "This is all fake, I don't have much to say!" Ka Fai joked, "It's even more loving."

In the film Chan Ka Lok played an ICAC character, Lau Ching Wan's helpful assistant. He said that he waited for this opportunity for a very long time. Because he used to watch a lot of Ching Wan's films, he was his role model. This time Ching Wan played an investigator who crossed the line, while he played a very orderly subordinate. He did a lot of idiotic behavior that irked Ching Wan very much. However Ka Lok said that at work Ching Wan was quiet, but when he wanted to learn the most was that Ching Wan never played with his phone at work. He hid in a corner and cultivated his emotions. He would also watch other actors' performance for inspiration. Thus he had to learn how elders would get into the character.

Tong Yi also said that she saw Ching Wan all the time at the stairway. In one scene when she took her mark, after Ching Wan finished his lines she was so stunned that she had a bad take. Because as soon as she faced him she stuttered. However later he told herself that she could not hurt his presence, so she put even more effort into the performance.

With ex Jennifer Yu Heung Yi recently suffering online bullying, Ka Lok also left messages of encouragement. Ka Lok protected his old flame and said, "Online bullying is bad, but I can't do too much and I don't have the ability to. So all I can do is only giving her a little encouragement."

Ng Ho Hong's cousin who has been like a brother to him passed away from a stroke. Yesterday a wake was held. After work yesterday he went to help out at the funeral parlor. He said that now he had sudden mood swings, luckily he was able to fill his time with work. However he said that while his cousin was alive he wanted to see him work more. Each time he would tell him work came first. As for his family, Ng Ho Hong admitted that everyone was holding back their emotions. His cousin had five children, the youngest was only four. Now that his cousin was gone, he would hope to keep the children company as they grew. Fortunately his cousin has always had a plan and did some work with insurance. Thus financially he would not need to worry too much for them.

Francis Ng Chun Yu and Nancy Wu Ting Yan's inspirational film MEN ON THE DRAGON (YIK LAU DAI SHOOK) will open soon. Earlier they promoted the film. Chun Yu praised the experienced Ting Yan became prettier and more durable, self confident, Ting Yan felt that Chun Yu has not changed at all and still was just as great.

The film was shot in the summer last year. Four mid level broadband internet company employees in order to "save their jobs" joined the company's newly formed dragon boat team and began the tough dragon boat training. Although he had to shoot the dragon boat scenes outdoors, Chun Yu said that they were a lot of fun. Did he have to practice before hand? Chun Yu honestly said, "I didn't bother to practice, since I didn't know how to anyway. The character doesn't know (how to row a dragon boat), so I used that ignorant feeling for the shoot. As the shoot went on I learned. Actually it was very simple. However everyday we worked for ten hours, after three days in a row I was very tired. Then came the final dragon boat race, I won't get to row again because it was the ending. At that time I was very happy and rowed for 20 minutes, from Sha Tin Town Hall back to Tai Wai." Did he become addiction to rowing? Chun Yu joked that if he treated it as a sport then he would be in trouble, because he would have to get an entire boat of people -- at least 20. It would not be like mahjong and just ask three people. In the film Tony Wu Tsz Tung wore swimming trunk, Poon Yuen Leung also showed off his muscles. Yet Chun Yu did not have to show anything. He said that he contributed. "Isn't eating my way to being fat enough?"

Chun Yu this time asked for Ting Yan by name for the big screen performance. They in 2003 worked on the television series TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES but in film this would be their first time. Working together again after over a decade, Chun Yu said that the experienced Ting Yan became prettier and more enduring, in comparison to when she played Coco she was even more self confident. As for Ting Yan did she feel that Chun Yu who turned from Sam Gor to Uncle has changed? Chun Yu cut in, "Sam Gor back then was an uncle. I already has played 20 years of Uncle and am very familiar with it." Ting Yan said that to her Chun Yu has not changed, as he was still just as great.

In the film their relationship was ambiguous, but in the end Ting Yan chose to return to her old flame. Chun Yu even nobly became Ting Yan's wedding witness. Chun Yu joked that in real life he was fine with giving up (love), but being the wedding witness would be......he might not be capable. For her big screen debut, Ting Yan in the film played a single mother. Between her neighbor and artist old flame she finally still chose her old flame. Would she spend time to wait for someone in real life? After several relationships Ting Yan did not know how she would handle it. She said, "Maybe the answer would be very different in the teens and the 30s. In teens and 20s when love was greater than Heaven I might be able to answer very quick, but when you are 30 something your bodily function might not be able to wait and you might think a little differently." In the film Ting Yan would also play a KOL, she never expected that she would be able to play MAGICAL ANGEL CREAMY MAMI. Thus she looked forward to seeing herself very much on the big screen.

Although the film received the Film Development Fund film production financing project assistance, Chun Yu revealed that he did not take a salary as he wanted to do something to help the film industry. Chun YU felt that cultivating new comers was his responsibility. With similar format films in the future he would again consider them. Every year he would like to make one until no one would ask. Did Ting Yan take a salary? Ting Yan said that she did. Chun Yu joked that even if Ting Yan wanted to she would not be able to. Although MEN ON THE DRAGON has not yet been released, it has already been selected for the New York Asian Film Festival.

Ken Wong Tak Bun and Tony Wu Tsz Tung yesterday promoted their film MEN ON THE DRAGON on the radio. Tsz Tung in the film worked with many elders and admitted that at first he was a little nervous, as he tried to show his best side. When asked to grade this junior, Tak Bun said, "I have no opinion, everyone would know after watching the film. Tsz Wu faces two Best Actors right at the opening, one of film and the other of stage. I only appear later. He is pretty sharp." This is the first time that a movie is made about dragon boat, Tak Bun understood that not everyone could accept it. However the advanced screening response was decent and he was already very grateful. Making a dragon boat movie in a dozen or so days was not easy, the box office would depend on Heaven. Some said that Tak Bun was big enough so the dragon boat scenes had no difficulty for him at all. "Not true, no matter how big you are if everyone can't coordinate the boat won't move. (Did you have a flex off with Tsz Tung?) I wouldn't dare, I would lose. Everyone only wants to see Young Fresh Meat, not the Uncle." Tak Bun joked, "If we are introducing Chun Yu and me, we would say together they are 100." Tsz Tung praised Tak Bun for being very humorous. He used to think that he was very cool, but actually he was very talented in telling jokes.

As for work, Tak Bun stated that he wanted to do anything and everything. Earlier when he went back to TVB to pick up his pay check, a producer mentioned a series. Tak Bun felt that if the time and the character were right it would be fine. He could work without a contract. As for Tsz Tung he said that he would have a movie that conflicted with the Asian Game schedule. He hoped to be able to handle both then.

The Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, Eric Kot Man Fai, Maggie Siu Mei Kei, Richard Ng Yiu Hon starred film HOTEL SOUL GOOD (NUI WONG JONG DOH JING) will open in October. The first trailer and poster have officially been released.

On the day of the shoot, Sister Na was dressed in white and tens of millions in diamond accessory to appear more royal. Cheung Kai Chung joked that he was dressed like a waiter to serve the glittering queen Sister Na.

This time Sister Na and Ah Chung played happy rivals and had the most scenes with each other. Sister Na said, "Ah Chung is a co-star who can put you at ease. Before the shoot even started we would already talk about the script to se how we would be able to make it better. On the set he even gave me a lot of confidence. Our level of familiarity has already reached great chemistry, so this entire film was a lot of fun!"

The Andy Lau Tak Wa produced and starred, Herman Yau Lai To directed, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Michael Miu Kiu Wai, Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Cherrie In Choi Yi starred film THE WHITE STORM 2 DRUG LORDS (SO DUK 2 TIN DEI DUI KUET) yesterday held an unveiling ceremony. The film production would cost around HK$ 220 million, as the company spent over five months and over HK$ 10 million on the construction of a full scale MTR station next to the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. Wa Jai and Goo Jai have not ridden the MTR in a very long time. Sam Gor even jokingly suggested for Wa Jai to take his daughter to take the MTR. Wa Jai immediately played mad and called Sam Gor a troublemaker. However Wa Jai praised Sam Gor for being the best "chok" among the three of them. Sam Gor instead called Wa Jai the "first chok". Goo Jai also held his own.

At the event, the film company arranged for "drug lords" Wa Jai and Goo Jai to arrived in a police vehicle, then began a drug sweep operation with brooms with other actors as they swept away the drugs on the floor. In the film they played villains and brothers, Sam Gor was a drug sweep team cop who wanted to arrest them. In one scene they ran into each other on the MTR. Although they worked in the heat, Goo Jai who had the flu said that he was used to shooting winter scenes in the summer and summers scenes in the winter. Speaking of their costumes, Goo Jai said, "I would grow my hair long and a beard, as well as a handicap. The details will have to be kept under wraps, but in he film I would have many girlfriends -- the most in history. I would have intimate scenes with each girl, but no bed scene." Wa Jai revealed that he would start with a pony tail and spend four hours on hair extensions. When he got home his father thought he was working a costume film. He was used to costume period roles, but he was not used to playing a modern role with period costumes.

When asked how long has it been since their last MTR ride, Goo Jai admitted, "I haven't been to a MTR station in 10 or 20 years, not even for a movie because MTR stations were hard to get for movie shoos. Otherwise we wouldn't have to build a MTR set. (Would you put on a mask to experience the MTR?) I would dare to, I just don't know how to take a transfer. Instead I would take the subway overseas, as I would be able to take my time and get the feel of it. It would be more convenient than other transportation methods. In some places I waited for half a hour for the light to change." Wa Jai said, "I haven't taken it for at least 15 years, but after SARS taking it with a mask would be a little better. Sometimes if I would be in a hurry to get across the harbor I would take it to Central. I would want to find an opportunity to take it again." Sam Gor happened to pass by and joked, "Ask him if he would take his daughter to walk around at the MTR." Wa Jai played mad and called him a troublemaker. Sam Gor joked, "What does it matter, you would be wearing a mask anyway. (Would you take Wa Jai's daughter to take the MTR?) I think he would chop me to death, since he wouldn't let go of his daughter's hand."

Speaking of stars being named after Lau Tak Wa, Koo Tin Lok, Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing and Anita Mui Yim Fong, Wa Jai said, "I only found out from the news, there are more stars in the sky than people, everyone can get a star named after them." Goo Jai said that at first he did not know how to respond because he never thought about naming something after himself. Of course he would feel honored as it was very special. A star in the galaxy was his, which would be a great commemoration.

Speaking of three hunks gathering together, Wa Ja joked, "When we get together, Sam Gor is the most chok." Sam Gor disagreed, "How can I be more choke than these two, Wa Jai is the first chok, Goo Jai holds his own as well." Sam Gor revealed that he very much looked forward to the MTR sweep and the car chase scenes, in them would be real and fake MTR stations. Sam Gor would normally take the MTR and without a mask. He said, "It doesn't matter if people ask for pictures, they would only ask because they respect you."

Chau Sau Na said that she would take the MTR with a mask and even slept past her station once. "Even when it reached the station I was still asleep. Later when I heard the announcement I finally got off." In the film she would play Wa Jai's former girlfriend and would have a teenage son. She admitted that she was very surprised to see a son who was as tall as her, but for a movie it was fine.

Ying Choi Yi was supposedly the matchmaker for Stephy Tang Lai Yun and Prince Chiu. Did Ding Ding already have her matchmaker tea? She said, "No, I only took the singles to dinner. I am not a Mamasan, and they knew each other when they were with the same company. (Was it your intention to play matchmaker?) No, I just asked everyone to dinner. Whatever happened between them had nothing to do with me."

Ding Ding yesterday promoted the film. She revealed, "In the film I would play the Big Sister, one of the four great drug lords. However I wouldn't have any relationship scene with Goo Jai and Wa Jai. We would only talk business. In the film the husband is already dead."

Ding Ding already finished her part. Today she would go to the Mainland with husband Jordan Chan Siu Chan and their son Jasper for a reality show shoot. Ding Ding would provide transportation and wait for them at the hotel. She said, "This shoot would be my son's summer class, children really like to play with everyone. The process is tough but he has learned a lot." She joked that her son was there to suffer and not to play.
