Thailand's "White Dragon King" Chow Yam Nam passed away on August 17 at age 76. The funeral took place yesterday as the legendary figure of a generation was buried in his family cemetery Yam Nam Hall. 2,000 followers bid farewell to the White Dragon King. They included Hong Kong tycoon Albert Yeung Sau Sing and famous directors Andrew Lau Wai Keung and Wong Jing, as well as Manfred Wong (Man Jun) and artist Natalie Meng Yao. The funeral was elegant. The King of Thailand's blessed holy mud covered the coffin. When the White Dragon King's coffin arrived at the Yam Nam Hall, the sky suddenly darkened and a dry thunder rang out. Many were in awe.

The funeral took place at the White Dragon King Temple. Yesterday the funeral ceremony began at 8 AM. The high monk chanted in the hall. The White Dragon King's family knelt in front of the altar. Since the White Dragon King's passing, the White Dragon King's daughter Pet was the main spokesperson. Two days ago the White Dragon King's eldest grandson returned from the U.S. for the funeral and caught attention. However, Pet was still responsible for distributing the funeral schedule to the media. Another 16 year old granddaughter Grace was responsible for thanking the royal family. The eldest grandson also had an important position. He was at the center of the front row at the altar and was responsible for leading family and friends in the ceremony. He presented different offering to the White Dragon King.

Mr. and Mrs. Lau Wai Keung, Mr. and Mrs. Wong Jing and Mr. and Mrs. Man Jun arrived early. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Yeung Sau Sing arrived around 11 AM. When Madame welcomed them they embraced each other and exchanged greetings; almost 2,000 followers arrived at the White Dragon King Temple to bid farewell. Around noon the workers prepared to welcome the royal family's holy mud. The family lined up outside the hall. The holy mud arrived around 12:45 PM, 25 minutes later than expected. After welcoming the holy mud, th group entered the hall to continue the ceremony.

Around 1 PM, the family took a lap around the White Dragon King's coffin. The eldest grandson carried a plant and led everyone out of the hall. Another male relative carried the White Dragon King portrait. The direction that the White Dragon King's coffin headed to was decided by Fuji planchette writing. Workers in black carried out the coffin as monks chanted. When the coffin arrived at the Yam Nam Hall, many followers cried and followed the group as the funeral procession was a long white line.

When the coffin entered the Yam Nam Hall, the originally sunny sky suddenly turned dark then sounded a few dry thunder. Followers felt that the thunder had special meaning. After the ceremony Yeung Sau Sing spoke to the press. He said that he was unhappy until the Master was buried, then he was able to be at ease. He praised the White Dragon King for helping many people. With his passing Mr. Yeung seemed to have lost a light. He also said that Madame was already calm.

After the burial ceremony ended, the event issued a press statement. The White Dragon King's eldest disciple Elder Lo thanked all those believers for attending. He said, "Although Master has already passed, Master will always remain in our hearts. We will always remember Master's teachings in our hearts as well." He pointed out that Master Chow Yam Nam's funeral has already completed successfully. Master is resting in peace in Yan Nam Hall. During the funeral donations from the faithful and the disciples like bicycles, school uniforms, cutlery and sports equipment will be sent to various temples, schools, hospitals and those in need by Thai monks.

The White Dragon King passed away but his love remained. In the statement the White Dragon King Temple announced that starting today it will be closed for two weeks for Madame, the family and the disciples to rest and handle temple matter; on September 20 the White Dragon King Temple will open.
