Due to the third wave of the pandemic, cinemas "closed" starting yesterday for 7 days until July 21st. The Kiwi Chow Koon Wai directed, Terrance Lau Chun Him and girlfriend Cecilia Choi Sze Wan starred film BEYOND THE DREAM (WAN OI) since its release on July 2nd was unaffected by the pandemic. Instead it only grew stronger. On the day before the "closing" its single day box office was HK$ 653,440. After 13 days (as of July 14th) its cumulative box office was HK$ 8,808,388. If not for the forced stop, it would have passed HK$ 10 million at the box office after the weekend! The distribution company said that after the cinemas would re-open, it hoped that the film would be able to continue its run. LEGALLY DECLARED DEAD (SEI YUN MO HOR YI) and MY PRINCE EDWARD (GUM DOH) on the day before the "closing" made around HK$ 130,000 and HK$ 50,000 at the single day box office.
