[2022.01.05] NICK CHEUNG "VANISHES" TO PREPARE FOR NEW FILM

Best Actor Nick Cheung Ka Fai's director dream has not shattered yet. Recently he successfully applied for the domestic film financing project and later would direct and start his 4th film. The film for now has yet to reveal its "mystery veil", but Terrance Lau Chun Him would have a chance to work with Ka Fai to the envy of many.

Cheung Ka Fai started directing in 2014 and had decent performance and word of mouth. Only in 2019 he suddenly "vanished" without a trace on or off screen, until last year when he returned as an actor for his friend Marc Ma directed Mainland film. Actually Ka Fai's directing dream has never shattered. Earlier he began working on his script and applied for the Hong Kong Film Development Council's "Film Production Financing Scheme" for the new film. Conceivably "Fai fans" would not have to starve for too long, in the not too distant future they would have the opportunity to enjoy their idol's performance again.

Ka Fai's new film will be titled THE SHADOW OF REDEMPTION (SUK MUNG). After handing over the script the film released HK$ 9 million from the scheme, the highest amount that the scheme has offered. Obviously it was fully confident in Director Cheung. Ka Fai would direct and star, and the potential of ANITA's Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing actor Terrance Lau Chun Him caught his eyes. Thus he was invited to participate. Ka Fai's manager Claudie Chung Chun would produce the film, which would start production in May. The project has been kept fully confidential, so far the story has not been revealed.
