The Catherine Chau Ka Yi and Carlos Chan Ka Lok starred Emperor Motion Picture WE ARE FAMILY (CHOOK JO GA YUN) would open soon. As the lead actress she has been inevitably nervous. The most memorable part for Ka Yi was when she and Tian Niu had a heart to heart chat. "In the story Sister Tian Niu was sick. She and I were chatting on the dam, the atmosphere was very sad and broke me down. After the shoot I kept crying. Sister Tian Niu was great and immediately comforted me, held me and stroke my back. She really was very attentive." In the film Shek Sau and Alex Fong Lik Sun played father and son. Ka Yi joked that they looked more similar than actual father and son.

Director Benny Lau Wai Hang's career development could be considered diverse. He first directed the Pang Ho Cheung produced, Patrick Tam Yiu Man and Isabel Chan Yat Ning starred short film MR. RIGHT, which was selected by the 2008 Busan International Film Festival, the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival and France's One Country One Film Festival; his feature film directing debut's script WONG KA YAN was chosen by the Golden Horse Award Film Project Promotion. WE ARE FAMILY (CHOOK JO GA YUN) would be Lau Wai Hang's fifth film as a director. During the pandemic it was already selected by the New York Asian Film Festival, the Vancouver International Film Festival, the China Golden Rooster Chinese Language Film Festival expected film of the year and others and caught attention.

In the film Tsang Chi Wai's character was a senior who lived alone. He could only converse with his phone app Siri to relieve his loneliness. Tian Niu played Tsang Chi Wai's landlady as well as neighbor. She loved to dance, but the music she played at home constantly disturbed Chi Kwong. Thus they were constantly at odds. As for Chan Ka Lok he played "We Are Family Co. Ltd." founder and boss. He was raised by his grandmother, due to family life, environment and a variety of factors he became someone who was only after profit and did not value family relationships as an adult. He understood that as long as he did not get into relationship he would not get hurt. He would rather be a numb person. However this time because the addition of the "rental family member" Chi Kwong, Ka Chung would have to consider the meaning of family anew. Actually often everyone would make the same mistake, misreading family's concern for yourself as bothering, nagging. Only when it was gone would you realize and regret. Happiness was not guaranteed. Hopefully everyone would take advantage of time and cherish those in front of them.

Speaking of the reason of creating WE ARE FAMILY, the director asked, "How long haven't you had dinner with family? How long haven't you talk with your family?" Now in this world family relationship was in an isolated and broken age, each character in WE ARE FAMILY had loss in their families. However that did not mean that they could not have their something new. As long as they opened their hearts to establish relationships with others, everyday could be the new beginning of a relationship. Director Lau Wai Hang continued that this world actually still had love, and hoped through WE ARE FAMILY to bless each and every person in Hong Kong.

Earlier WE ARE FAMILY has been invited to take part in the 18th season of the Asian Pop Up Cinema in Chicago. Chan Ka Lok would also receive the Bright Star Award. Ka Lok and director Lau Wai Hang would fly to Chicago to accept the honor and interact with viewers there. WE ARE FAMILY would open in Hong Kong on March 14th.
