The Nick Cheung Ka Fai directed and starred new film PEG O' MY HEART (SHOOK MUNG) recently (17th) won the "Best Director Award" at the Grimmfest Film Festival in Manchester, England. This year's film festival has more than 20 fantasy horror films from around the world, including creative works from the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom and other places. PEG successfully won the favor of the jury, and Ka Fai was unanimously awarded the best director.
The jury said that this year, among many works and directors full of imagination and creativity, Ka Fai finally stood out and won the award. They described PEG as a hallucinogenic psychological movie, praising Ka Fai for not only being the screenwriter and the director but also playing the leading role in the film. PEG attracted much attention at the film festival, not only winning the "Best Director Award", but also received special mention from the jury in both the "Best SCARE" and "BEST VFX/SFX" categories. The Dennis Yeung Man Kit led outstanding special effects team fully brought out the horror atmosphere in the film, making PEG a highlight of this year's film festival.
This year's Grimmfest Film Festival also showcased masterpieces from all over the world. PEG as the only Chinese-language film participating in the festival was able to stand out among all the masterpieces, which was indeed an honor.
PEG has already attracted widespread attention from overseas movie fans before its release. This year, it has been selected for 7 film festivals, including the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, the Bucheon International Fantasy Film Festival in South Korea, the Panorama Section of the Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival in Spain, the Malaysia International Film Festival, the Fantastic Filmfest in Germany, Grimmfest Film Festival in Manchester, UK, and L'Etrange Festival in Paris, France.
