Actors Tony Leung, Sammo Hung Kam Bo, director Ann Hui On Wah and Cantonese Opera star Yuen Siu Fai were all awarded honorary doctorates by the Academy for Performing Arts yesterday. Tony Leung, who won the award again, said that he was very satisfied, and his next goal was to be a film producer and perform by himself, hoping to succeed next winter and start filming a father-daughter action drama film.

Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Sammo Hung Kam Bo, Ann Hui On Wah and Yuen Siu Fai received honorary doctorates at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Honorary Awards Ceremony 2024 in Wan Chai yesterday. After receiving an honorary doctorate from HKUST last month he was honored again. Leung Chiu Wai shared his feelings, "It's like graduation, I'm so happy! (How would you celebrate?) Dinner. (This year is the year of the awards?) Not really, it's happened with movies before." He also said that he has not counted how many awards were at home. Would he give lectures and share his experience? He said, "Some people have invited me, but I just know how to act; I don't know how to teach, so for now I wouldn't do it. I can just share my experience. (Would you go to school?) Actually making movies is equivalent to going to school, because each role has a lot of hoemwork. Earlier when I made an European film I had to study neuroscience, basically I have never stopped. (Would you want to become a doctor again?) I am already satisfied, the next goal is to be a producer. I would perform too. I hope to make it happen by winter next year, but the first draft of the script has not been written yet. I would have to keep who the director would be a secret for now. (Is it Hirokazu Kore-eda?) No, that one was last year's. It was an art films, but the script hasn't been completed yet. Mine woul be an action drama film about fathers and daughters. Wai Jai said that action films have a lot of variety. His action subject would not be the hardcore type where every punch would land. Escapes and car chases could also be action type. He revealed that he particularly liked Leung Chiu Wai, Zhang Ziyi and Zhou Dongyu. He also said that he has discussed cooperation with Leung Chiu Wai but not in details yet, so there was nothing to reveal.
