Recently busy with the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG), Donnie Yen Chi Tan had a few days off for the Lunar New Year and returned to Hong Kong to be with his family. To him it was valuable as he even planned to go on a holiday with his family, but his wife Cissy Wang objected. Since he would lose two days on the flight, he might as well stay in Hong Kong and spend more time with the family.

Chi Tan last year spent very little time with his family. Earlier when he returned to Hong Kong he attended an event. When he left he said to his son James "bye bye" and James burst out crying. Chi Tan said, "Children grow up so fast. After a few months part they look different. I don't have time to watch them growing, which I feel very guilty about. Luckily my wife took care of the family well so I could relax and fight for my career. I am really appreciative of my wife." Cissy Wang said when she saw James cry. She joked that she felt jealous because normally when she left and said goodbye, he would only respond lightly and never cry. He knew that she would be back soon. As for Cissy's New Year wish, she would like more time to be with her husband. Chi Tan's New Year wish was for World Peace and good health for the family. He said, "It sounds very outdated, but both are the most important. You can only enjoy life if you have health, so here I wish good health to everyone." In addition, Chi Tan graded his performance in the Lunar New Year film ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 2011 (JUI KEUNG HEI SI) only as "passing" due to the strong cast with Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi, Carina Lau Ka Ling, Louis Koo Tin Lok and others.
