Jo Koo (Kok Cho Lam) has been nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Supporting Actress for the first time with the movie PAPA. She said that she never thought of being nominated. The story was mainly based on "PAPA" Sean Lau Ching Wan, so she did not feel that she was "demoted" from the lead to the supporting actress. She even pointed out that because of PAPA, she has blazed a path for country woman roles. She said that several roles required her to speak country dialect, which was very interesting.

The movie PAPA has received 11 nominations at this year's "Hong Kong Film Awards", including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Performer, etc. Among them Best Supporting Actress Koo Cho Lam and Dylan So were nominated for the first time. Kok Cho Lam said that she has not thought about being nominated, after finding out she was nervous and happy. "I have no manager and no big company. Under this situation I was still nominated, which meant that every vote is out of sincerely liking my character. I reminded myself not to let the nomination affect me, and I look forward to walking the red carpet as a family. It would be the best if the whole family (on screen husband Lau Ching Wan and son So Man To) would be able to win awards."

Kok Cho Lam won the "Best Supporting Actress" at the "2024 Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Annual Awards", which is known as the "Hong Kong Film Awards warm up race". It was her first film award in the 27 years since she entered the industry, and she has immediately become a favorite for supporting actress this year.

So Man To was only 16 years old when he filmed PAPA. Now he is already an adult and majoring in English education at the Education University of Hong Kong. After the release of PAPA, Kok Cho Lam joked that she had many offers of characters who spoke country dialect. "If it's a pretty girl role of course it's good, but now I seem to have blazed a trail for country woman roles. Maybe because of PAPA everyone thinks I am suitable to be a country woman. I don't mind, I even thinks it's pretty fun."
