The Radio Television Hong Kong (hereinafter referred to as RTHK) organized "46th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs" award concert was held at the Hong Kong Coliseum last night to present the 2024 music report cards. With the theme of "Trendy Movement with Love", the event featured the famous rock band Tai Chi and the "Queen of Love Songs" Janice Vidal (Wai Lan) to be guest performers. Fashion designer Chiang Wan Mei created fashion looks for the emcee team, and the event also provided innovative sign language interpretation services to showcase Hong Kong's multicultural diversity. Last night, Jay Fung Wan Him won five awards in a row and became a big winner with a brilliant performance.

The awards ceremony, with Alex Lee Chi Kong, Wong Tin Yee, Kity Chui Kit Tung and Brian Yuen Chung Yeung as master of ceremonies, kicked off with the singing of the 180-member choir, and the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Algernon Yau Ying-wah, presented the medal to the choir as a token of appreciation.

In addition to Yau Ying-wah, the Director of Broadcasting Angelina Kwan Yuen-yee, the Chairman of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) Professor Chan Wing-wah, the Chairman of the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (Hong Kong Group) Colin Cheung Kwok-lam, the President of the Hong Kong Record Merchants Association (HK) MiMi Chung Wai-wai, the General Manager of the Licensing Department of the Hong Kong Recording Industry Alliance Ng Lung Fung, the host and section chief of Music Broadcasting of Beijing Radio and Television Chang Xiaohang, the assistant director of Shanghai People's Radio Dynamic Channel 101 Sheng Yu, and member of the Executive Committee of Teledifusao de Macau S.A. Cheang Kong Pou also came to show their support.

At the unveiling, all the singers took the stage. The singers standing in the first row were Gin Lee Hung Ngai, Jay Fung Wan Him, Cloud Wan Hoi Ying, AGA (Kong Hoi Ka), MC Cheung Tin Fu, Mike Tsang Pet Tak.

Jay won 5 awards that night and became the big winner, including the "Chinese Gold Song Award" for SEE YOU SOON, IT'S NOT A GOODBYE, "Excellent Pop Singer Award", "Best Chinese Record Award (Male Singer)", "CASH Best Creative Singer Award", "Global Chinese Supreme Gold Song Award", followed by Cheung Tin Fu, Gin Lee and Wan Hoi Ying with 3 awards. Among them Cheung Tin Fu and Gin Lee repeated the male and female singers of the "Most Excellent Pop Singer Award".

Jay thanked RTHK for their support, "Every award is rare and invaluable, I will continue to work hard." The ailing Wan Hoi Ying said emotionally, "Music is my value." When he won the Gold Song award with SEE YOU SOON, IT'S NOT A GOODBYE, he joked on the stage, "I want to take a vacation." Later when he won the Global Chinese Supreme Gold Song award with the same song, he immediately changed his tune and said, "I said I wanted to take a vacation, which might have upset the company. I would be better off composing more songs first."

As for Kaho Hung Ka Ho, he took the lead with TINTED WINDOWS as he won the "Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Award" and the "Excellent Pop Singer Award" in one fell swoop. Tsang Pei Tak won the "Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Award" and "Excellent Pop Singer Award" with TALK TO ME. Lolly Talk's TEN COUNT, Dear Jane's THANK YOURSELF, Yanting Chau's FORTUNE OF THREE LIFETIMES and other works have won awards one after another, showing the diverse styles of the music scene.

After 20 years together, Dear Jane won the Gold Award for Best Band/Group, and lead singer Howie also won the Silver Award for Best Creative Singer. The Gold Award for the "Most Improved Award" was won by Lagchun, but he did not attend. The Silver and Bronze Awards went to Feanna Wong Suk Man and Aska Cheung Chi Ho respectively. The "Excellent Chinese Pop Song Award" went to Gareth.T (Tong Ling Shan).

The second-generation star Ashley Lin (Lam Hoi Ling) won the Gold Award in the "Most Promising Rookie Award", the girl group VIVA and the guy group ROVER won the Silver and Bronze Awards respectively, and the Excellence Award went to Irene Lam Chin Ying, Arvin Tsang Ngo Fei and Kay Lee Hoi Kiu. Lam Hoi Ling won two golds, one silver and one bronze at the four music awards ceremonies this year. She said that she was very happy to be one of the winners of the Rookie Award at the four award ceremonies, and that she would feel a little pressured after she was no longer a newcomer. She would continue to release new songs this year, hoping to show a richer musical outlook. Because she had to wake up early to work the next day, she smiled and said that she could only go home to catch up on her sleep; but promised to find another time to share the glory with her family.

Just celebrated its first anniversary, VIVA won the "Most Promising Rookie Silver Award" and the four members were very happy. "This award has drawn a perfect end to our first year. The future achievements are unpredictable, so we can only continue to work hard and make progress slowly to welcome a new story in the new year."

AGA, Felix Lam Chi Lok, Vincy Chan (Wing Yi), James Ng Yip Kwan and others won the "Excellent Pop Singer Award" respectively. "STAR ACADEMY" singer Lam Chi Lok just won the rookie award last year, and this year he has been promoted to the list of "Excellent Pop Singers". He was nervous on stage. "I originally thought that I would come to watch the show. I never thought that I would be able to win the Excellent Pop Singer award. I am very surprised right now, I really never thought about this!"

Wing Yi suffered from a severe cold and was way out of tune while performing SUGAR FREE. Janice Vidal (Wai Lan) sang a number of classic love songs "Big Brother", "My Heart Is Troubled", "Even if there is no fairy tale in the world" and "The Best Vision of Me" all in one breath. Tai Chi performed many songs, including RED SPORTSCAR and CHEERS. Lead vocalist Patrick Lui Yau Fai asked the audience to turn on the flashlight on their phones, as he dedicated the performance of NEVER SAY FAREWELL AGAIN to its composer, his late bandmate Gary Tong Yik Chung.

Jaime Cheung Tin Wing's girl group Beanies won the bronze award in the "Best Band/Group" award, a breakthrough performance in the music industry; however, her boyfriend ANSONBEAN (Chan Ngai Sun) announced earlier that he would temporarily leave the entertainment industry. When asked about ANSONBEAN's current situation, Jaime said, "He's OK, let him have some space. After resting and regrouping his mind he would start anew. (Has he seen a doctor?) I feel this is a personal question, he might not want to tell everyone. Hopefully everyone would give him a little space, I believe he would get well soon." Would she consider getting married to cheer up her boyfriend? She said, "Isn't getting married a pretty stressful thing? Wait until after he rests up."

All of the singers under the Sony label were absent. Even though Phil Lam Yik Hon won the CASH Best Creative Singer Award, he neither attended nor have anyone accepting the award on his behalf. Excellent Pop Singer award winner James Ng Yip Kwan and the Most Improved Award gold prize winner Lagchun were both absent as well. TVB's Star Academy "After Class" members Chantel Yiu Cheuk Fei, Windy Zhan Tianwen and Yumi Chung Yau Mei attended, but Gigi Yim Ming Hay remained the lone absence amidst rumors of moving on to a mainland company.
