Best Actor Louis Koo Tin Lok and Chrissie Chau Sau Na have frequently promoted their new film recently. Chau Sau Na smiled and said that when they were filming their argument scenes, Koo Tin Lok was speaking so fast that she had to be very focused in order to "follow up" to avoid any bad take! Koo Tin Lok earlier while shooting the trailer showed off "Hong Kong Pu(tonghua)" and was very funny!
Koo Tin Lok (Goo Jai), Chau Sau Na (Chrissie) and Taiwanese actor Liu Kuan Ting's new film BEHIND THE SHADOWS (SI GA JING TAM) is in release in the mainland. Goo Jai and Chrissie in the film played a couple whose relationship was on the verge of collapse and had many heated argument scenes. Each time the two would argue with every emotion on their face and they were very much in character. Chrissie even revealed that Goo Jai delivered his lines like he was speed talking. "Mr. Koo (Koo Tin Lok) delivers the dialogues so quickly that I have to be very focused in order to be able to follow along. Fortunately he has a different interpretation of each take, so that he can keep it fresh for me."
Goo Jai played the detective in the film, and from time to time he had to put himself in danger to find out the truth. In one scene he even had to fight in the water. In order to achieve the best effect, even when the fighting got rough he still insisted on several more takes for the director to choose from. In addition after each take, he would walk to the camera to watch the playback. He was quite serious!
Years ago Goo Jai used "Kong Pu" (Hong Kong Putonghua) to say the slogan "If you want to save energy, tires can", which became a hot topic in the city because of his funny pronunciation. After many years, although Goo Jai's Mandarin has improved, clearly he still had room for improvement. Recently, he made a Mandarin trailer for BEHIND. The line "I'm just a detective investigating the case, how can the murderer be me" once again turned into a funny golden quote because of the pronunciation. He turned it into "The goose is just a steamed stall to check the goose drops, how can the murderer turtle tear the goose." Goo Jai spoke in "Kong Pu" with a serious expression, which made the scene hilarious. People online could not help but comment, "Why not just speak Cantonese."
