The Hong Kong film industry has entered its cold winter. Artist Ken Law Ho Ming has not chosen to "sit still" and wait for the work to start, but actively developed in various aspects. Recently he stepped into the literary world, and would launch a new book with the subject of Superman. Speaking of the reason for publishing the book, he pointed out that it was all derived from film. "This book was originally a script. Before the pandemic an investor planned to make it, but in the end due to the pandemic it didn't. The script caught an investor's eyes in February this year, and I immediately turned it into a novel."
Because of the dramatic nature of the novel, the investor proposed to shoot a short film of about 1 minute for promotional purposes during the Book Fair. Ken took immediate action. With limited funds, he finally made a nearly 20 minute short film. From designing costumes, actors, making props to directing the action, he did it all by himself and turned into a "superman" inside and outside the film! He invited Lokyii Liu, friends William Chak Wai Lim, Tony Ho Wah Chiu and other to perform. Ken even transformed Lokyii from a "sexy goddess" to a "stylish fighting girl". He laughed and said, "She has never filmed a fight scene herself, so she deliberately took nearly a week for classes. I never would have guessed that she is decently agile, picks things up quickly, and fight better than a lot of girls."
Ken's management company boss Louis Koo Tin Lok has always been very supportive of his artists. Just completed his eye surgery for about a week, when he learned that Ken has published a book he immediately sacrificed his rest time to write a preface for the new book. Ken was very touched. "The boss is great. After finding out that I have published a book, even if his eye just finished surgery he helped me immediately. In addition Chin Kar Lok, he too lent a helping hand for the first time."
