Anthony Wong Yiu Ming, Siuyea Lo Chun Yip, Wong Ha Wai and others attended the "Opening Ceremony of the 36th Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival" yesterday, Wong Yiu Ming and Lo Chun Yip expressed their support for the "Registration of Same-Sex Partnerships Bill" and regretted that it could not be passed by the Legislative Council. Wong Yiu Ming once said that he would never regret being able to reach the Hong Kong Coliseum, but he also hoped to perform in Hong Kong again and would try to apply for other venues; Lo Chun Yip said that he would not mind playing a more daring gay role, and joked that he believed that his girlfriend Fish Liew Chi Yu would be interested in watching it.

Siuyea Lo Chun Yip said that he was there to support director Ray Yeung Yiu Hoi, executive director of the film festival. "We have been working together since SUK SUK, and would be on the jury for the screenplay contest of the lesbian and gay film festival he organized." He said that in "SUK SUK" he played the son of gay father Ben Yuen Fu Wah, and also had a gay relationship with Phoebus Ng Kai Yeung in the drama "MARGARET AND DAVID TIE". It was also the only time he played a gay man. He believed that playing gay people was no different from other roles. As an actor he would not mind playing any role, the most important was that the role had flesh and blood. Even if the role would require more daring performances, he had no problem. Would his girlfriend Fish Liew Chi Yu be able to accept it? He laughed and said, "I believe she has no problem and would be interested in watching it, but I should be in good shape to be able to perform. Now I definitely wouldn't pass."

ALL SHALL BE WELL (CHUNG GUM YI HAU) last year learned that same-sex partnerships would encounter some unfair treatment or difficulties legally. I feel that if this bill is passed, same-sex partners would receive certain level of respect. When they truly have to face legal issues, they would not be completely without support. Unfortunately it has yet to be passed."
