The "Federation of Motion Film Producers of Hong Kong" announced yesterday that in accordance with the selection criteria of the "Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences" for the "Oscar for Best International Film", it has decided to recommend the Anselm Chan Mou Yin directed, Jason Siu Kim Chau, Chan Mou Yin and Chan Sing Yan produced, Dayo Wong Tze Wah, Michael Hui Koon Man, Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Tommy Chu Pak Hong, Catherine Chau Ka Yee starred film THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) to represent Hong Kong to vie for the "98th Academy Awards for Best International Film".

The "Academy Awards for Best International Film – Hong Kong Jury" selected from all Hong Kong films released between October 2024 and September 2025, and THE LAST DANCE was nominated to represent Hong Kong in the competition for "98th Academy Award for Best International Film" with the majority of votes.

Regarding representing Hong Kong at the Oscars, Producer, Director and Screenwriter Chan Mou Yin said, "It is an honor for THE LAST DANCE to represent Hong Kong at the Academy Awards for Best International Film. I want to thank each and every industry and Hong Kong viewer for their support on behalf of the cast and the crew. I am grateful to everyone for walking along with us, creating a beautiful scenery on this journey!"

Lead Actor Wong Tze Wah said, "Breaking Hell is a very unique ritual in Hong Kong, and it is also the ultimate trajectory of mankind. Going to the Oscars, I hope it can resonate with even more people and make them more interested in Hong Kong's traditional culture." Another lead actor Hui Koon Man said, "Thank you to the audiences of Hong Kong and around the world for participating in this film journey, and I hope that THE LAST DANCE will break geographical boundaries and touch more audiences."

Winning the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress for the first time with THE LAST DANCE, Wai Sze Nga said, "I just received this good news, I am very encouraged, it is beyond imagination! THE LAST DANCE embodies the hard work of the entire team, and I am honored to be able to participate in it. I hope that the film can go further and further, touch the hearts of more audiences, and break various different hells."
