Farewell, "Benz Hung"! Benz Hui Siu Hung passed away yesterday at the age of 76 due to multiple organ dysfunction syndrome caused by kidney cancer. As he was the senior brother of TVB's first artist training class, his junior brother Chow Yun Fat went to the hospital yesterday to see him for the "last time". The "Support Actor King" of a generation said goodbye to the world with a smile. After Charmaine Sheh Sze Man saw her godfather for the last time the day before, she rushed to Beijing to start work that night, and promised to take care of Hui Siu Hung's family.

After the veteran and powerful actor Hui Siu Hung was reported to be critically ill and admitted to the ICU the day before, a group of friends rushed to the hospital to visit. Working in Macau, Charmaine Sheh Sze Man also rushed back to Hong Kong to cheer up for her godfather. Unfortunately the bad news came yesterday morning. Hui Siu Hung's family announced his death through Maria Lai Chi Shan that he passed away peacefully at 2:30 a.m. yesterday due to physical failure caused by kidney cancer. Reportedly when Hui Siu Hung passed away, his family and friends accompanied him on the last journey. The family thanked his friends for their concern and condolences over the past few days, and the funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Hui Siu Hung entered the industry in 1971 and have participated in countless classic works. He was also a student of TVB's first artist training class. As his junior of the third training class, Chow Yun Fat quietly arrived at the hospital at about 9 o'clock yesterday morning. Dressed in black and wearing a cap, he quickly entered the hospital. When he saw the press taking photos, he politely waved. Chow Yun Fat and Hui Siu Hung have co-starred in the drama THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY in 1979. The Chow Yun Fat played Ching Wai and the Hui Siu Hung played Chu Pak Keung were good friends, in the 1980s they worked together again on POLICE CADET 2. Hui Siu Hung recalled in an interview that when he and Chow Yun Fat worked on THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY, the cast became very close friends. They would start work at 2 PM, but everyone was already at the company canteen at noon. They chatted and laughed, even after work they were reluctant to leave as they waited for everyone to go for a late night snack. Everyone from top to bottom got along and had quite a sense of belonging. He and Chow Yun Fat stayed friends to this day.

As for Ah Sheh, she visited her godfather the night before. After leaving the hospital, she flew to Beijing for a shoot. She was interviewed in Beijing. When asked about the passing of her godfather, she said strongly, "He is an actor I respect very much. I have known him for a long time, and he has also played my dad several times. He was very serious at every shot, then he would be our joy. He would always be very optimistic on the set. Although everyone was very tired, he always joked with us and livened up the atmosphere. He was very optimistic, loved his family very much and was very good to his family. He has worked hard to make money all his life, hoping to give his family an even better life. Although he is no longer here, we should continue his positive and optimistic personality. Although it is very sad, we must also move forward positively; because I know that he must want us to live happily, like he was happy every day; so Dad, although I miss you very much, I won't cry anymore. Gallen Lo (Law Ka Leung) and Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung have been rolling in TVB with Hui Siu Hung for many years, and everyone started from the bottom. Previously co-starred with Hui Siu Hung in the drama THE HEIR TO THE THRONE, Law Ka Leung said in an interview yesterday, "I am very sad and heartbroken! May he have a safe journey! The film LOVE UNDERCOVER (SUN JAT SI MUI)'s "Fong Chung Sir" has become classic forever. Miriam Yeung Chin Wai praised Hui Siu Hung for his selfless help and care for his juniors. "I am very reluctant to part and very heartbroken, I never expected that our meeting early in the year would be the last. I am very grateful and lucky to have run into you at the beginning of my acting career. TV Best Actor Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming and Samantha Ko Hoi Ning (Go Ling) attended the TVB program preview yesterday. The two have worked with Hui Siu Hung many times since entering the industry, and have benefited a lot from his advice in many aspects. The unaired TVB drama THEMIS has become Hui Siu Hung's posthumous drama work. Collaborated with him in the drama, Patrick Tam Yiu Man expressed regret for Hui Siu Hung's death. Hui Siu Hung has made over 100 movies and achieved many classic characters. Yip Lim Sum said that when he invited Hui Siu Hung to perform last year, Hui Siu Hung has already taken two TV series, but finally took the role after he begged hard. Known as a beloved wife and a good father, Hui Siu Hung became insulated from gossip after marrying his Singaporean wife Long Yan in 1992. The two have been married for 33 years, and they met through a friend's introduction. He said that his wife was very pretty and thought it was a divine arrangement, thus he began his courtship. The couple both came from prominent families, as the property of Long Yan's maternal ancestor Qinghui Garden is among the top ten famous gardens in China. When she married Hui Siu Hung, she already had a son who was a few years old. Hui Siu Hung once said, "Since I fell for her, why would I mind!" He also regarded his stepson as his own, and his stepson automatically called him dad when he was a child. Their relationship has been excellent. When his stepson grew up, he moved to Australia but still stayed in touch with him from time to time.

Hui Siu Hung also loved his daughter Charmaine Hui Wai Ching. When his daughter got married earlier, he spent HK$ 20 million as a dowry. In 2020 he spent 7 million to help his daughter open a restaurant, and she opened 3 restaurants in two years to create a food kingdom. In recent months, he still shared his daily life with his daughter from time to time, and the last short video was a week ago when father and daughter interacted with each other while playing video games. In the video Hui Siu Hung did not show any unusual sign and promised to play video games with his daughter more, but unfortunately it has become a permanent farewell.

Released in Hong Kong last year, TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) received HK$108 million, second only to THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) and A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG) to become the third highest-grossing Hong Kong film. It was very popular with Japanese audiences, as so far it has accumulated 500 million yen (about HK$2550 million). This year's Tokyo International Film Festival invited director Soi Cheang Pou Soi to appear in the master class. He shared the production highlight of different periods at the event yesterday and said that he has experienced a lot of lost periods, including joining Milky Way Image to work with Johnnie To Kei Fung, getting to know himself anew, the gains and losses of directing THE MONKEY KING film series in the mainland, and revealed that the much-anticipated TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: THE FINAL CHAPTHER (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI JUNG JEUNG) was in pre-production and will officially start filming in March next year.

Speaking of DOG BITE DOG (GAU AU GAU) in 2006, Cheang Pou Soi said that the film release would almost reach its 20th anniversary. Cheang Pou Soi said that after joining Milky Way Image and working with Johnnie To Kei Fung (To Sir), he was determined to do something that he has not done before. "The biggest benefit is to get to know myself anew," he added, "the process of working with To Sir is painful, not enough to be inhuman; A script is changed twenty or thirty times, takes a year and a half for only two completed pages; but he was good, let me shoot while conceiving.
