Farewell, "Benz Hung"! Benz Hui Siu Hung passed away yesterday at the age of 76 due to multiple organ dysfunction syndrome caused by kidney cancer. As he was the senior brother of TVB's first artist training class, his junior brother Chow Yun Fat went to the hospital yesterday to see him for the "last time". The "Support Actor King" of a generation said goodbye to the world with a smile. After Charmaine Sheh Sze Man saw her godfather for the last time the day before, she rushed to Beijing to start work that night, and promised to take care of Hui Siu Hung's family.

After the veteran and powerful actor Hui Siu Hung was reported to be critically ill and admitted to the ICU the day before, a group of friends rushed to the hospital to visit. Working in Macau, Charmaine Sheh Sze Man also rushed back to Hong Kong to cheer up for her godfather. Unfortunately the bad news came yesterday morning. Hui Siu Hung's family announced his death through Maria Lai Chi Shan that he passed away peacefully at 2:30 a.m. yesterday due to physical failure caused by kidney cancer. Reportedly when Hui Siu Hung passed away, his family and friends accompanied him on the last journey. The family thanked his friends for their concern and condolences over the past few days, and the funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Hui Siu Hung entered the industry in 1971 and have participated in countless classic works. He was also a student of TVB's first artist training class. As his junior of the third training class, Chow Yun Fat quietly arrived at the hospital at about 9 o'clock yesterday morning. Dressed in black and wearing a cap, he quickly entered the hospital. When he saw the press taking photos, he politely waved. Chow Yun Fat and Hui Siu Hung have co-starred in the drama THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY in 1979. The Chow Yun Fat played Ching Wai and the Hui Siu Hung played Chu Pak Keung were good friends, in the 1980s they worked together again on POLICE CADET 2. Hui Siu Hung recalled in an interview that when he and Chow Yun Fat worked on THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY, the cast became very close friends. They would start work at 2 PM, but everyone was already at the company canteen at noon. They chatted and laughed, even after work they were reluctant to leave as they waited for everyone to go for a late night snack. Everyone from top to bottom got along and had quite a sense of belonging. He and Chow Yun Fat stayed friends to this day.

As for Ah Sheh, she visited her godfather the night before. After leaving the hospital, she flew to Beijing for a shoot. She was interviewed in Beijing. When asked about the passing of her godfather, she said strongly, "He is an actor I respect very much. I have known him for a long time, and he has also played my dad several times. He was very serious at every shot, then he would be our joy. He would always be very optimistic on the set. Although everyone was very tired, he always joked with us and livened up the atmosphere. He was very optimistic, loved his family very much and was very good to his family. He has worked hard to make money all his life, hoping to give his family an even better life. Although he is no longer here, we should continue his positive and optimistic personality. Although it is very sad, we must also move forward positively; because I know that he must want us to live happily, like he was happy every day; so Dad, although I miss you very much, I won't cry anymore. I will miss you, and I will always be happy. I will take care of your family."

Gallen Lo (Law Ka Leung) and Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung have been rolling in TVB with Hui Siu Hung for many years, and everyone started from the bottom. Previously co-starred with Hui Siu Hung in the drama THE HEIR TO THE THRONE, Law Ka Leung said in an interview yesterday, "I am very sad and heartbroken! May he have a safe journey! There is no illness or pain in heaven!" Cheung Jai was even his training class junior colleague. He recalled his moments with Hui Siu Hung. "Brother Benz left so suddenly and so fast, it's really a pity. Everyone knows that Brother Benz's acting is unique, and he has brought everyone many, many good characters. I have worked with him many times at TVB, and many collaborations in commercials in the mainland. Every time I see him I am happy, everyone gets along very well. My condolences to his family!"

When Michael Miu Kiu Wai went to the hospital to see Hui Siu Hung for the last time, he sadly said that he has said everything he wanted to say to him at the hospital! Also visited, Bobby Auyeung Chun Wah counted their works together on social networks and said: "I have benefited a lot, Eldest Brother have a safe journey, and I will always miss you!" TV Best Actor Roger Kwok Chun On posted, "My favorite is your POLICE CADET role of Uncle Dong. After entering the industry I call you Benz, which feels weird! After working with you I have called you Dad! Pa! Chan Sir ...... In the end, my favorite is still calling you Benz! Benz's name will remain in the hearts of countless viewers! Thank you! For bringing us countless joys! I love you!" Deric Wan Siu Lun also went to the hospital and posted afterwards, "Dear Brother Hui Siu Hung, I was able to say goodbye to you with your family and relatives and friends last night. Witnessing everyone enduring grief and your peaceful face, Siu Lun could only kneel down to thank you and dare not say more. As the tears fell, countless joyful scenes with Brother in public and private in the past were instantly like cuts all over my body; all kinds of feelings were in my heart!"

The film LOVE UNDERCOVER (SUN JAT SI MUI)'s "Fong Chung Sir" has become classic forever. Miriam Yeung Chin Wai praised Hui Siu Hung for his selfless help and care for his juniors. "I am very reluctant to part and very heartbroken, I never expected that our meeting early in the year would be the last. I am very grateful and lucky to have run into you at the beginning of my acting career. I will always miss Fong Chung Sir, may you no longer suffer from illness on the other side, and continue to be carefree and comfortable - Guen!" The Hui Siu Hung played Wong Kai Fat in the movie RUNNING OUT OF TIME (UM JIN) has been deeply ingrained into the hearts of the audience and even nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Sharing many scenes with him, Sean Lau Ching Wan said, "Amy (Kwok Oi Ming) and I are both saddened over Benz's passing, but we believe that no matter where he goes he would bring that optimistic and brilliant smile." Other popular stars such as Shu Qi, Donnie Yen Chi Tan, and Anita Yuen Wing Yi all posted condolences, and Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi posted, "The sound of your joy is hidden in my sunshine, and I will always miss you."

TV Best Actor Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming and Samantha Ko Hoi Ning (Go Ling) attended the TVB program preview yesterday. The two have worked with Hui Siu Hung many times since entering the industry, and have benefited a lot from his advice in many aspects. Go Ling even played his daughter more than once, privately she would even call him "Dad". When she mentioned this elder yesterday, she had an emotional breakdown for a while. As tears rolled down, she was almost speechless. She said in a trembling voice, "I went to see him yesterday. It was so sudden, I am so grateful to have met him in this life......" At this time she was so crying hard that she could not speak, Ma Kwok Ming comforted her and said, "When I just came out of my training class I had a costume role as a prodigal son, so Hui Siu Hung just so happened played my father. At that time my acting skills were immature, and Benz =scolded me all the time. Once during a meal he whispered to me, 'Would you rather I scold you now, or the audience scold you when the series is aired?' I think I will remember those word for the rest of my life. He was really a good senior, so I always tell people that he is actually my idol. I want to learn from him not to socialize so much in addition to filming, focus on doing a good job as an actor. Such a good senior is gone, it's really a pity."

The unaired TVB drama THEMIS has become Hui Siu Hung's posthumous drama work. Collaborated with him in the drama, Patrick Tam Yiu Man expressed regret for Hui Siu Hung's death. "I shared many scenes with him in the series, and we haven't worked together for many years. He was very clever and funny at that time...... I hope his family would not be too sad, my condolences. Brother Benz has brought us many good characters and memories over the past few decades. His attitude was optimistic and dedicated, which is really worth learning."

Hui Siu Hung has made over 100 movies and achieved many classic characters. The last Hong Kong film he performed in was the Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) directed QUEEN OF MAHJONG (MA JEUK NUI WONG JUI NAM JAI). Yip Lim Sum said that when he invited Hui Siu Hung to perform last year, Hui Siu Hung has already taken two TV series, but finally took the role after he begged hard. "I am grateful to Brother Benz for still loving me for so many years. Everyone had a great time filming this movie. In short, with Brother Benz on the set, it was always full of laughter! The last contact I had with him was two weeks ago when I invited him to come to see my play. Brother Benz replied that he has been recuperating due to illness recently and could not attend."

Edwin Siu Ching Nam and his wife Priscilla Wong Chui Yu attended the event yesterday and talked about the death of their senior friend Hui Siu Hung. Chui Yu said with tears in her eyes, "I am luckier because we were neighbors. I remembered that when (son) Siu Ha Ha was born, he took a shower very considerately before coming over to give the baby lai see, but the baby was sleepy and we never took a photo together. Recently I went for a walk with my baby to the door of Brother Benz's home. I wanted to ask him to come out, but he replied to me that he was not very well. In the end we couldn't take a photo together." Did she feel regret? She said, "That's why everyone should cherish every relationship."

Known as a beloved wife and a good father, Hui Siu Hung became insulated from gossip after marrying his Singaporean wife Long Yan in 1992. The two have been married for 33 years, and they met through a friend's introduction. He said that his wife was very pretty and thought it was a divine arrangement, thus he began his courtship. The couple both came from prominent families, as the property of Long Yan's maternal ancestor Qinghui Garden is among the top ten famous gardens in China. When she married Hui Siu Hung, she already had a son who was a few years old. Hui Siu Hung once said, "Since I fell for her, why would I mind!" He also regarded his stepson as his own, and his stepson automatically called him dad when he was a child. Their relationship has been excellent. When his stepson grew up, he moved to Australia but still stayed in touch with him from time to time.

Hui Siu Hung also loved his daughter Charmaine Hui Wai Ching. When his daughter got married earlier, he spent HK$ 20 million as a dowry. In 2020 he spent 7 million to help his daughter open a restaurant, and she opened 3 restaurants in two years to create a food kingdom. In recent months, he still shared his daily life with his daughter from time to time, and the last short video was a week ago when father and daughter interacted with each other while playing video games. In the video Hui Siu Hung did not show any unusual sign and promised to play video games with his daughter more, but unfortunately it has become a permanent farewell.

Hui Siu Hung shared his feelings about life many times before his death, and the sentence "cherish people who are good to you" appeared on the hot search and made people sad.

In recent years, in addition to his acting career, he has also started to come in contact with social platforms because of his daughter. They filmed many short videos. He has shared his outlook on life many times, and once said that the biggest regret in life was not missing the person he cared about the most. "It's that I missed the person who cared about you the most, cherish the people who are good to you now. Some people would say goodbye, and would never see you again in this life." He also admitted that after people leave, they could not take away a single brick or tile. "Life is short, so go eat what you want to eat, meet the people you want to see, see the scenery you like, and do what you like to do. The future isn't far off, if you have money you should spend the days a little better. Without money you can adjust your mood. Days go by day after day, one day you would let go of everything."
