Director Peter Chan Ho Sun (Peter) recently attended the 58th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival held in Spain. In addition to serving on the jury of this year's film festival, he was also awarded the "Grand Honorary Prize" in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the film industry over the years. In addition to Peter, British director Terry Gilliam, American director of the "Gremlin" series Joe Danite, and actress Carmen Maura were also presented with this honorary award.

On the night of the award ceremony, Peter received the award from the chairman of the festival, Ángel Sala, and in his thank you speech, Peter thanked the festival in Spanish for presenting him with this "Grand Honorary Prize", "Winning this award, I actually have to return this award to the festival because I have learned a lot from these young directors, new directors, and debuting directors. I think I need to stay young, curious, humble, and innovative in the language of cinema. I want to thank all of you." As a member of the jury, Peter, after watching 35 movies in 7 days and meeting with the jury to discuss them over 3 days, felt that those 7 days were the most exhausting in his life. He said that he could learn more about the thoughts of today's new generation of directors.

Chan Ho Sun also attended the forum after the screening of his film SHE'S GOT NO NAME. He gave an opening speech in Spanish, and the translator immediately began translating. He asked with a smile, "I am speaking Spanish and still need to be translated?" Actually the translator was translating into Catalan, which cracked up the entire audience. He also said that Barcelona was one of his favorite city, recalling 41 years ago he at age 21 shot in Barcelona and described the period as "the most beautiful 6 months of his life".

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu made a special flight to Spain to accompany Peter to accept the awards and share the honor, Kwan Yu recalled their visit to Spain 23 years ago, and shared Peter's erotic history at the nude beach. "When Peter came here to film at the age of 21, he came to the famous Spanish nude beach in Sitges for the first time and a few girls approached him and chatted with him. He said that he didn't know where to look with his eyes! In 2002, he said that he wanted to take me back for an eye-opening experience. At the first I felt very free- spirited. Then when I come back this time I found that the young people are wearing a swimsuit. The nude ones are older than me and Peter, may be they still are the girls from 40 years ago!" In addition to Ng Kwan Yu, Chan Ho Sun's niece Maisie also flew to Spain to experience the joy of his uncle's award acceptance.
