Sandra Ng Kwan Yu two nights ago began her six day visit of Mumbai, Indian as a Orbis children ambassador to get an understanding of poverty's effect on blind children. She will even accompany children into the operation room for eye surgery. Kwan Yu expressed that she did not have time for immunization shots before the trip but she was not concerned about the local health condition. She brought a lot of water with her.
Kwan Yu planned to take her daughter with her in two years. "She begins to understand now and knows the goal of the trip. I showed her photos and videos from my visit last year and explained to her that the locals were very poor and did not have food to eat." Kwan Yu also said that while she was packing her daughter took out some snacks to eat. Will she miss her daughter on this trip? Kwan Yu said, "Now I won't, but she doesn't like it when I go out. Every time I go she would ask whether I was working in Hong Kong or taking a flight." In addition, Kwan Yu's films ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU) and BEAUTY ON DUTY (MEI LAI MUK LING) are box office hits. She said, "Actually we need good Hong Kong films. During the Easter holiday Hong Kong films in general didn't perform well. Now everything is the 3D age foreign films, Hong Kong films need to have specialty, gimmick and strong promotion to work."
