When 1942 finally passed inspection, Feng Xiaogang earlier the microblog thanked the release and production teams and said that in his next life he will work like a horse for Huayi's Wang Zhongjun and Wang Zhonglei in return. While waiting for the approval, the entire production including Feng Xiaogang could not sleep and eat. No wonder when Director Feng learned about the good news he immediately drank into an oblivion with his colleagues. The Rome International Film Festival in the last minute announced 1942 as its "surprise film" in competition to compete with 14 other films from around the world for the highest honor, Marc'Aurelio gold prize.
