With three top stars Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Chow Yun Fat and Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, the Lunar New Year film THE MONKEY KING (SAI YAU GEI ji DAI LAU TIN GUNG) opened on January 29. As of yesterday afternoon, its Hong Kong box office has already exceeded HK$5.7 million! Not only did Chi Tan in the film play Sun Wukong convincingly, but also Iridescent Cloud Fairy Wang Yuanyuan was surprising. Even Chi Tan praised her as exceeding expectation. "She has one scene in which she has to play a monkey on wires. Because it was her time on wires, it was pretty tough. However she didn't complain and performed with a lot of effect. She is tough, but afterward she couldn't walk for a week!"
The married Yuanyuan said that this film would probably be her last. Speaking of her first wire experience, Yuanyuan said, "The wires were very hard and hurt a lot. The next day I was sore all over, I almost couldn't go to the bathroom!"
