[2014.02.02] FROM VEGAS TO MACAU REACHES 10 MILLION FIRST IN HONG KONG

Best Actor Chow Yun Fat this year had two Lunar New Year film releases. THE MONKEY KING (SAI YAU GEI ji DAI LAU TIN GUNG) in the Mainland box office performed well and also performed decently in the Hong Kong as well. After 3 days it made HK$5.92 million. Fat Gor's other Lunar New Year film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU (DOH SING FUNG WON) was the top Hong Kong Lunar New Year film. As of the Lunar New Year's Day, with advanced screening it made 9.56 million. Yesterday it was the first Lunar New Year Hong Kong film to break the 10 million mark.

FROM VEGAS TO MACAU made HK$31.6 million from its Mainland opening. Although its box office was no match for THE MONKEY KING, director Wong Jing was pleased with the box office. He stated that with the film's Mainland scheduling, this figure already reached his expectation. Released earlier in the Mainland, HELLO BABIES (LUK FUK HEI SI) as of 6PM last night broke the 100 million yuan mark.

Two comedy stars who were in a Lunar New Year rivalry in past years, Raymond Wong Pak Ming and Eric Tsang Chi Wai this time worked together on the film HELLO BABIES, as of the Lunar New Year's Day it accumulated 5.8 million. Yesterday its box office exceeded 7 million.
