Film superstar Chow Yun Fat starred in Lunar New Year films FROM VEGAS TO MACAU (DOH SING FUNG WON) and THE MONKEY KING (SAI YAU GEI ji DAI LAU TIN GUNG) that were released at the same time. With Fat Gor's draw, both films had word of mouth and box office success in China and Hong Kong. As of two days ago, the films have already made over 900 million RMB in the Mainland. Before yesterday's deadline the total box office even broke 1 billion! Fat Gor said, "I never would have guessed that I would have such a good performance in my old age."

As of two days ago, THE MONKEY KING in the Mainland box office had about 719 million RMB and FROM VEGAS TO MACAU had about 237 million. Two films' total box office was around 950 million. As of yesterday before the deadline, the total box office already broken 1 billion!

Speaking of his Lunar New Year film successes, Fat Gor was surprised. "I never would have guessed that I would have such a good performance in my old age. I am very happy that despite both films competing against each other I still had the support of so many people. THE MONKEY KING's credit can't all go to me, mainly it belongs to (Donnie) Yen Chi Tan, the audience's anticipation for 3D and the confidence in the Hollywood production team." THE MONKEY KING is currently raging as it heads toward the 1.5 billion box office goal.

As for FROM VEGAS TO MACAU as of two days ago made 237 million RMB. The film with Fat Gor's draw and word of mouth grew in momentum. The box office went from the 24.56 million opening day to a single day box office peak of 30 million. Its Mainland film scheduling also went from the lowest 13% to yesterday's 19%. Currently VEGAS is growing strong and conceivably could break 300 million in days.

Speaking of FROM VEGAS TO MACAU's success, Fat Gor said, "FROM VEGAS TO MACAU at first was at quite a disadvantage because WHERE ARE YOU DADDY had very strong momentum. I wouldn't have guessed that the film would remain as firm as it is now, with such endurance. Thank you everyone." In Hong Kong, FROM VEGAS TO MACAU as of two days ago made HK$27.42 million. THE MONKEY KING made 22.42 million. The total for both films was near 50 million and each film still had hope to break 30 million at the box office.
