The 2014 SMI Corporation New Spring Party took place last night at the Hong Kong Convention Center. Anthony Chan Yau as the SMI Culture executive director greeted guests. Tam Wing Lun, Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To), Fruit Chan Gor, Kathy Chow Hoi Mei, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan and Albert Yeung Sau Sing who just invested in SMI attended.

Alan said that Jackie Chan as the new PAG president was great news. Some pointed out that Jackie Chan was busy, could he do the job? Alan said, "Sure! Although he is busy, he has never been the one who did anything. All he had to do was to come out and lead." As for concerns of him misspeaking, Alan said with a smile, "I already hit villains for him under the bridge, they are all done!"

Chan Yau said that the company this year would make 6 to 8 films. 3 have already been decided to start production, the Ann Hui On Wa directed THE GOLDEN ERA, the Stanley Kwan Kam Peng directed, Chen Kun and Vicki Zhao Wei starred film and another Peter Chan Ho Sun directed film. Chan Yau with RIGOR MORTIS (GEUNG SI) was nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actor. He said, "I am very happy, I haven't made a movie in 20 years. When I returned I got a nomination, all the honor belonged to Heaven. Whether I will win or not it won't matter, when my name will be called I will go to the stage and accept the award. If not, I am just as happy shaking other people's hands."

Tsui Tsz Shan stole the spotlight from Christine Kuo, Koni Lui Wai Yi and Oceane Zhu Xuan. She did not know that she was the sexiest among TVB female artists in attendance. "The company told me to dress prettier. I was only respecting the event." Tsui Tsz Shan was very happy to meet many directors and bosses and hoped to have more film opportunities in the future.

Yeung Sau Sing led the Emperor artists Sherman Chung Shu Man, Ken Hung Cheuk Lap, Michelle Wai Si Nga in attendance. He just invested in SMI and purchased over 6% shares. They will work together on cinema circuits, film and artist management in the future. Speaking of Nick Cheung Ka Fai leaving Emperor to join Claudie Chung Chun, Yeung Sau Sing said that the move could not be said as regrettable. "Ka Fai and I are good friends, Ka Fai still has several film contracts with Emperor. I feel that it was more suitable for him to sign with Chung Chun. With Chung Chun's network of people and position in the industry, she could help him."
