[2023.10.19] LO CHUN YIP HOPES THE AUDIENCE WOULD BE ABLE TO RELATE TO HIS FIRST FILM LEAD

The 5th "First Feature Film Initiative" Higher Education Institutions Group prize winning project TIME STILL TURNS THE PAGES (NIN SIU YUT GEI) is new director Cheuk Yik Him written and directed, Derek Yee Tung Sing produced; not only has it become this year's Asian Film Festival opening film but also received five 60th Golden Horse Awards nominations, including Best Narrative Feature, Best New Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor and Best Film Editing. It is the only Hong Kong film to be nominated for this year's Bes Narrative Feature award.

Lead actor Siuyea Lo Chun Yip admitted that expectations for this performance were inevitable. "However the greater expectation is for the audience to be able to relate to the film, and experience the creativity that each department displays in different areas."

As the secondary school teacher Cheng Sir, Lo Chun Yip in order to find the student who would attempt suicide in the class has to face his childhood past that was full of violence and regret anew. In his first lead role and the story is so heavy, Lo Chun Yip has spent a lot of time to prepare before hand. In order to get into character, Lo Chun Yip even carried a class photo from the film with him.

In the film he and Hanna Chan play a couple and have their share of intimate scenes. They have worked together before on music videos and short films, so they are no stranger to each other. When the production reached the intimate scenes, they instead had a certain of trust.

Lo Chun Yip said, "Most of our scenes are focused on two consecutive days of production, from shooting the wedding first, then intensely experiencing pregnancy, argument, separation and reunion we did them all in one breath." He said that he and Hanna had great chemistry. Hanna also praised Lo Chun Yip also a great co-star, and their first acting collaboration was very gratifying.
