The Tony Leung Chiu Wai starred GRAND MASTER (YUT DOI JUNG SI) has been in preparation for years and recently begun production, but yesterday at the sixth annual Hong Kong Entertainment Expo he expressed that he still had no idea who would play his wife in the film. Wai Jai expressed that lately the GRAND MASTER production team has been shooting snow scenes in Shenyang. Director Wong Kar Wai was so satisfied that he added scenes for him in Shenyang. Even he said that now the more they shot the more scenes were added, but he was more excited as the shoot went on. However reportedly Zhang Ziyi's role has been reduced. Wai Jai expressed that it was only gossip as he still had no idea how much would be cut. "Why would the director randomly change the script?" The press pointed out that since he got more scenes the script was already changed. Wai Jai expressed that only he got more scenes. After the Lunar New Year he will shoot scenes with Song Hye-Kyo. Wai Jai has already met her while promoting 2046 and looked forward to working with her very much. As for his wife in the film, Wai Jai expressed that he did not know who will play his wife. Reportedly Gong Li will participate, Wai Jai stated that he only heard about that but did not know whether that was true. He even hoped that the film would wrap before summer.

He also mentioned that his earlier injury has almost completely recovered, but he would like to count how many injuries he had after the shoot. Donnie Yen Chi Tan earlier joked that if he did not work on fight scenes then he would not be injured. Wai Jai said, "That really is a fight movie!" He even praised action director Yuen Woo Ping's professionalism as bad takes were infrequent. Wai Jai also revealed that before the Lunar New Year he will return to Hong Kong to spend the Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day with his wife Carina Lau Ka Ling, but they would only dine together to celebrate.
