The Hong Kong film ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU) won the 60th Annual Berlin Film Festival Crystal Bear Best Picture prize in the Generation kplus section, the first for a Hong Kong film. Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government commerce and economic development bureau secretary Rita Lau Ng Wai Lan congratulated the film's production team and expressed that the film's success demonstrated Hong Kong film worker's strength.

The 60th Annual Berlin Film Festival on February 20 announced that the Alex Law Kai Yui directed, Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting produced ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW received the Berlin Film Festival 2010 Crystal Bear Prize "Generation kplus" Best Picture. This was the first such honor for a Hong Kong film.

This year 14 films competed for the Crystal Bear prize. The Berlin Film Festival's Generation kplus section was specifically set up for children and young adults. Its principle is elevating the younger generation's understanding of culture through film; the jury directly consists of young viewers. This year over 2500 young viewers participated.

ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW was one of the films that received support from the film development fund. This year the Berlin Film Festival screened 4 Hong Kong films, including ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW, AMPHETAMINE, TRUE LEGEND and LITTLE BIG SOLDIER.
