This Lunar New Year seemed to be particularly cheerful. Lunar New Year films like ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL TOO 2010 (FA TIN HEI SI 2010) and 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY (72 GA JO HAT) two nights ago finally opened. On opening day ALL's made 900,000 and became the day's box office champion. Boss Raymond Wong Pak Ming yesterday led Louis Koo Tin Lok, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and Ronald Cheng Chung Kei continued to promote on a bus tour. Kwan Yu said that with Eric Tsang Chi Wai's crazy talk earlier, their victory was particularly joyous.
ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL TOO 2010 and 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY are heating up in competition as both are promoting heavily. Two days ago both opened officially, ALL'S first day box office was HK$905,542. With the five advanced screenings, it made 1,718,049 and successfully defeated the second place, 699,811 take of 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY. 72 along with advanced screenings made 1,414,946. Although AVATAR has been released for awhile, its momentum remained fierce with 695,083 that day. As for the two action films TRUE LEGEND (SO HAK YI) and 14 BLADES (GUM YI WAI) both had average box office performance with 510,559 and 352,866.
ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL TOO 2010 yesterday continued to promote. Koo Tin Lok, Cheng Chung Kei, Ng Kwan Yu and boss Wong Pak Ming appeared in a parade and gave laisee to the crowd. As for beating 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY on the first day, Kwan Yu said on the stage, "They were talking crazy, we won't use such negative energy to stomp on them. We will take our time fighting." Kwan Yu honestly said that two nights ago she was very nervous as this year they had a little pressure. As for Chi Wai's mouth, Kwan Yu said that everyone only played like that because they were so close. She said if Chi Wai did not pick this fight, no one would pay so much attention. Kwan Yu said, "I am truly touched, Chi Wai is a commercial marvel." When asked whether she has subdued Chi Wai this time? She said, "We don't have to rely on wallpaper (one of 72's sponsors)." However, Kwan Yu pointed out that although Chi Wai was talking crazy, she hoped both films would perform well. After the event she will spend the New Year with her family in Thailand.
Wong Pak Ming hoped that ALL'S will be able to break ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 2009 (GA YAU HEI SI 2009)'s 24 million box office record last year. In the Mainland for now ALL'S is in the lead. Reporters said that he made Chi Wai eat his words. Wong Pak Ming said, "It's deserved, I can guess it before hand." He also said that earlier Chi Wai expressed that he would crash the premiere but in the end he did not come. He said, "Maybe he was afraid. He said we didn't dare to go to their premiere, he didn't dare to come either." Yet he will support Alan Tam Wing Lun and watch the HERE COMES FORTUNE (CHOI SUN DOH) premiere.
Koo Tin Lok and Cheng Chung Kei were happy but the good performance. They hoped that the boss would give them a completely gold tiger as reward.
