The 25th Hong Kong Film Award Best New Director winner Kenneth Bi (But Kwok Chi)'s new film GIRL$ will open next Thursday. The film is about post 80 and 80 escort girls. The cast including Michelle Wai (Si Nga), Bonnie Xian (Sin Sik Lai), Minyi Wang and Una Lin (Lam Yuk Hin) crossed their bottom line with their daring performance. The film completely reflected the new generation youth "ignore the consequence, do what they want to do" attitude.
Due to the sensitive subject, the film had quite an enormous response when it premiered at the 34th Hong Kong International Film Festival. With the film's upcoming release, Sin Sik Lai was looking forward to it and hoped that everyone would like GIRL$ as much as she did. She said, "I saw many positive responses online, I was truly excited. Unfortunately due to the subject the film could not be released in the Mainland. Many people in Mainland left messages on the microblog, which was somewhat regrettable." The film company scheduled advanced screenings Friday and Saturday for viewers who have waited a long time to enjoy this controversial film right away. The GIRL$ tonight will promote the film in Mongkok.
