Andy Tien (On Chi Kit) in the film ONCE UPON A TIME IN SHANGHAI (NGOK JIN) played a righteous Bund mob boss Lung Chut. In order to display his dominance, director Wong Ching Po arranged for him to have a tiger as a pet.
On Chi Kit smoked a cigar on a chair while petting the tiger. He revealed that in real life he had 3 cats and a dog. He was not afraid of acting with a tiger because it was only 2 or 3 years old. It was not too threatening. If it was an adult tiger he would be afraid. He did not play with the tiger before taking his mark. He said, "Actually tigers are very dirty and also very smelly."
