Hong Kong veteran sound effect master Kinson Tsang King Cheung passed away from cancer on the 7th at age 68. Reportedly he had cancer long ago and had surgery, finally he succumbed as the cancer cells spread.
His films included INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH), COLD WAR (HONG JIN), IP MAN, SHAOLIN SOCCER (SIU LUM JOOK KAU), THE STORM RIDERS (FUNG WON ji HUNG BA TIN HA), THE ACCIDENTAL SPY (DUT MO MAI SING) and others. He has won 4 Hong Kong Film Award for Best Sound Effect and 5 Golden Horse Awards. He once was the first to bring the latest digital sound effect technology to Asia and attracted many film industry insiders to approach his company for post production. He has worked with directors like Andrew Lau Wai Keung, Alan Mak Siu Fai, Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting, Wilson Yip Wai Shun and others. Even while battling cancer, Tsang King Cheung still did the sound post production for the Tin Kai Man produced film CONCERTO OF THE BULLY (DAI LOK SI WAI OI PUI LOK).
