The 33 year old Jacky Cai Jie has been receiving raves for her performance as a dance escort in the series NIGHT BEAUTIES. Born in Zhanjiang, Guangdong and with a Jinan University director major background, she revealed on a radio interview that she was the only child. Since childhood due to her father's influence she grew fond of Hong Kong films and Cantonese songs, even because her idol was Jacky Cheung Hok Yau that she changed her English name to Jacky.

After finishing her master's degree Cai Jie immediately worked on the film ABERDEEN (HEUNG GONG JAI). Her daring love scene with Eric Tsang Chi Wai left a deep impression, thus she was nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award Best New Performer. Being willing to make the sacrifice for art in her firs film, Cai Jie clarified that she was not fully nude in the scene. It was only daring and she did not make it for the salary. She said, "The pay actually was very low, not even enough for the round trip cost from and to Australia. After graduating in Australia the next day I came to Hong Kong to make ABERDEEN. At the time after graduation I had no direction yet. The director happened to ask me and I felt it was a sign from Heaven, giving me an opportunity to grasp. Earlier I was able to be nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards, my family was very comforted. To this day I still haven't regretted making ABERDEEN." Then for four or five years ago although Cai Jie made almost 20 movies, they were all minor roles. Was she disappointed before switching to television? She said, "My world doesn't think like that, I am very Buddha-like. I have always had the opportunity to act, for which I already felt very fortunate and very grateful. Many people with even more qualifications than me might not have the opportunities. What I got is already much more than what I estimated I would."

After switching to television Cai Jai has been linked ot co-stars Bosco Wong Chung Chak and Dominic Ho Ho Man. She stated that both were false. Cai Jie said that Wong Chung Chak has been a great and very cherished friend. Although FLYING TIGER II did not take a long time to make, he has been a very rare friend who she can make a connection with in the business like a good sibling. Did Wong Chung Chak not have what it would take to attract Cai Jie? She said, "Wow! He is too good, everyone would be attracted to him. He is beyond my reach. What do I have? He too has said that I am beyond his reach, so of course I have to say this too." I felt that not all relationships would need to develop into a couple. Good friendship would last even longer. I hope to be able to develop into a lifetime of friendship with him."
