MC Cheung hopes his movie LOVE LIE would continue to climb at the box office
MC Cheung attended an audience appreciation event with the team courtesy of mingpao.com
The MC Cheung Tin Fu and Sandra Ng Kwan Yu starred movie LOVE LIES
(NGOR TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI) was released on the 17th. As of
yesterday (September 28th), its box office exceeded HK$ 10 million.
Yesterday MC participated in an audience appreciation event with the team
including director Ho Miu Ki. They went to different theaters to thank
the audience for 8 shows. Each of the audience appreciation shows were
sold out.
MC was building momentum for LOVE LIES and went to 8 consecutive
audience appreciation shows yesterday. He joked that he "threw his body
out there" and has already seen the movie four or five times before. At
one of the stops, MC sang a few lines of the movie theme song "Pen Pal"
acapella in response to audience requests.
An audience member asked which line of dialogue in the film was
the most memorable? MC loudly performed and said, "How tall is he?" Upon
hearing this, the director said that she did hot know how tall MC was when
she first wrote the script. The two worked in unison to create a relaxed
atmosphere.
MC was happy that the box office has exceeded HK$ 10 million and he
has become a HK$ 10 million actor. He said, "I am not very familiar with
the film industry, so I don't know what is considered a good performance.
For me, exceeding 10 million already felt great. I don't have any set
goal, of course the more the better. I will communicate with the director
on how to give back to the audience. I don't mind if I am promoting the
movie; but if I am asked to remove my shirt, it seems to have nothing
to do with the movie."
MC was grateful to the fans for their support. He also hoped to
make more movies in the future. When he would receive other scripts, he
would take a closer look at them. MC wanted to challenge highly difficult
roles, "I want to challenge playing a character with a mental disorder,
but if it is a simple, realistic character, it will be difficult to play
it calmly."
MC said he did not mind paying for a celebration for the team and
would wait for the team's arrangements; he also revealed that the most
difficult thing about learning to ride a motorcycle recently was balance,
and he will take the rider test in November. He said that people who ride
motorcycles have an unique aura, and what he was most concerned about was
maintaining his hairstyle when removing his helmet.
Speaking of his manager May being accused of playing with
popcorn in the cabin during a flight earlier and causing a mess and the
online criticism of her for inappropriate behavior, MC said, "Throwing
popcorn randomly will indeed mess up the place. This is an example that
everyone should learn from."

Kay Tse often conducts self exams in regards to breast health courtesy of on.cc
Singer Kay Tse On Kay attended an event yesterday and stated that
she would help her husband Louis Cheung Kai Chung with breast exams at
home. She praised them for being very elastic and good to touch!
Earlier she went to Malaysia to interact with movie fans. During the
event, she kept mentioning her husband and joked that she had a
"lovestruck brain".
Tse On Kay attended a breast cancer prevention event in Kowloon
Tong yesterday. She said that in addition to annual check-ups, she also
conducts self exams. Has her husband Cheung Kai Chung help with the
exam? She laughed and said, "You can check yourself, and you can ask your
other half to help you. Checking yourself is even better, you know how it
feels. However, if your other half cares about you, he can easily feel
it too. (Have you given your husband an exam?) His muscles are different
from our soft ones, but he feels pretty good to touch, very elastic."
Speaking of her music, she said that she deliberately slowed down her pace
this year to make fans miss her. She was preparing for the 20th
anniversary of her career next year, with plans to release new songs and
hold concerts.
In addition, Kay recently attended the "Hong Kong Film Gala
Presentation 2024: Malaysia" on behalf of the movie OUT OF THE SHADOW
(NGOR DAI DIK TUI YUN SUN WOOT), interacted with fans and talk about the
the new film production experience. At the event she admitted that her
husband Louis Cheung Kai Chung influenced her journey to become an
actress. She mentioned her husband's name four times during the event
that day, and she couldn't help but laugh and said that she had a
"lovestruck brain." Kay took advantage of this opportunity to visit
Malaysia again and indulged in local delicacies, especially desserts that
she couldn't resist. She said, "I'm usually very restrained when it comes
to desserts, but when I came here I felt too happy; so I was extravagant
for those few days, ate a lot of different desserts and a lot of
authentic delicacies. " She also visited the nostalgic Kwai Chai Hong to
take photos, and enjoyed a relaxing and happy time while skipping rope in
front of the famous mural.

designed by art master William Chan Suk Ping.
Wong Tze Wah and Hui Koon Man collaborated on the screen again
after 32 years. In the new film they played a pair of partners in the
funeral industry with completely different personalities. In one of the
confession scenes, when Tze Wah's performance reached the emotional part
he could not hide his emotions and choked up. After the filming he even
walked aside to wipe his tears. Then the two characters sang a song to
forget their grudges. Tze Wah and Michael sang a Nam Yam song for the
first time, which brought a extremely powerful performance.

A widowed gynaecologist falls for a French engineer on a
dating app, which turns out to be a romance scam. Nevertheless,
she insists it is true love despite being swindled out of a
large sum of money.
[ 2024 NEW YORK ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL ]
Are online "romance scams" always destructive? In this moving,
absorbing feature debut from Ho Miu-ki, Sandra Ng plays Veronica,
a wealthy, widowed doctor who falls for a middle-aged French
engineer on a dating app. Soon, "Alain" has convinced her to
provide large infusions of funds and Veronica’s friends urge her
to report him to the police. But even as she assures them it's
true love, Alain must steel his heart of gold and quell his
second thoughts to continue bringing in cash or risk painful
consequences. With a hilarious Stephy Tang as the young
scammer's coach, this captivating film probes the unlikely
emotional connection that forms between a lonely young man and
a vibrant older woman—and sets crucial scenes in the
pretty-as-a-postcard Sapporo.
[ M PLUS ]
A successful obstetrician-gynecologist whose love life has stagnated,
Veronica casually downloads a dating app for some harmless fun. Little
does she know that the dashing French engineer on the other end of the
line is actually a local con artist named Joe. The young man
inadvertently joined a group of online scammers led by the oddball
veteran Mr. White and the maudlin temptress Joan. As their fake
relationship grows, so have Joe's guilty conscience and Veronica's
hopes. First-time director Ho Miu-ki takes on the romantic comedy
formula from a refreshing and topical angle, inquiring the essence of
romantic love through the prism of deceit.

Louis Cheung Kai Chung (Ah Chung) and KOLOR vocalist Sammy So Ho
Choy went to the Peak to attend a smart sports watch event yesterday. Ah
Chung said that running in the mountains while appreciating the scenery
along the way was an unforgettable experience. He runs for several hours
and burns a lot of calories. However, he does not have much experience in
mountain running and mostly runs on flat roads. He trained hard for a
marathon a few years ago for a movie role. "Running 10K, I ran it in 59
minutes at first , and then the fastest was 39 minutes. I participated in
the half marathon that year, and finished in 93 minutes. Although I can
enter the elite group, I didn't join, and I don't plan to challenge the
full marathon. I will quit while I am ahead. Although the film was
ultimately not made, I gained valuable experience and met a group of
friends who run marathons. Now I keep jogging and exercising."
The film market in Hong Kong is weak, and Lunar New Year films are
no longer popular. Recently, only the Mak Kai Kwong directed JUNG NUI
JEH (MIDDLE AGED WOMEN DORMITORY) is in preparation. The film market in
Malaysia is booming, with three Lunar New Year films in productions there.
Ah Chung starred in one of them, I WANT TO BE RICH (JO GOR YAU JIN YUN).
Ah Chung lamented, "The film market this year is really scary. The Hong
Kong film industry is really having a hard time. I heard that (Edan) Lui
Cheuk On's new film will be postponed; but as far as I know, some people
are working on scripts despite this difficult period. I am the same, I
plan to direct and act in a light-hearted romantic comedy. When the
environment is not good, I have to come up with better scripts and find
find some new subjects. I believe that if there is a good script, the
audience will definitely come to the show." Ah Chung did not know whether
RICH will be scheduled for a Lunar New Year release in Hong Kong. The
film is adapted from a true story about how the Dato he plays built his
fortune from scratch, which is very inspiring. He denied that he moved to
work in Malaysia because of the downturn in the Hong Kong film market. "As
an actor, I will go wherever there are opportunities and good scripts."

The Bob Lam Sing Bun co-founded entertainment company held a 10th
anniversary press conference yesterday. In addition to its artists, Best
Actor Gordon Lam Ka Tung was also present to support the event. Earlier
due to injury, he was unable to go to Venice, Italy with the "Hong Kong
Classics Reimagined" team to receive the award. He said that it was all
due to a torn waist muscle. "It rained heavily earlier, I wore new shoes
and accidentally fell on the stairs when I returned home. It hurt so much
I cursed." He was in so much pain that he could not move and had to call
an ambulance, so he had no choice but to cancel his trip to Beijing and
Venice. He expressed his disappointment, "I have never been to Venice.
I was really looking forward to this trip, but I can only look forward to
the next time. I originally wanted to go to Beijing to attend my god
daughter's graduation ceremony before going to Venice, but I couldn't make
the trip." Ka Tung laughed at himself and said that
like an old man, he needed to use a large waist pad to support his waist
when sitting. He said that he has recovered 80% but work has been
affected. The doctor has given him medicine for the pain, after taking
then he felt out of it. "I felt hazy after taking it, but it helped me.
I will know how to act in similar roles in the future." Did the accident
make him want to find a wife to take care of him? He jokingly pointed out
that he had another way of looking at it. "Since my waist is like this
now, I don't need to marry a wife, haha! Both views are valid."
He admitted that he was used to living alone, so he did not
consider hiring a domestic helper to help with housework. He was used to
cleaning up, even Mommy was not allowed to touch his stuff. He also
revealed that he has been busy writing scripts recently. Speaking of the
lack of Hong Kong-produced Lunar New Year films next year, he said that
investors have asked him to produce one, but if the script is a little bit
worse, he will be "fried and torn to pieces". He needed to take the
script more seriously now, so he would be able to answer to himself
and the investor; otherwise finding investors will be very difficult. He
said, "I hope to make it in time for the Lunar New Year, but I will try my
best to finish it depending on the progress."
Lam Sing Bun revealed that the company had many projects like
concerts for its artists and stand up comedy shows. He also expressed
that he was interested in staring a master of ceremony training class.
Ky Tse shared her original intention of becoming an actor but also took the opportunity to show off. courtesy of on.cc
Kay Tse On Kay recently attended the "Hong Kong Film Gala
Presentation 2024" event that was held in Malaysia. When asked about the
reason why she crossed over from a singer to become an actor, she said
that she often attended her husband Louis Cheung Kai Chung's movie
premieres before, and felt that actors could have ever-changing
possibilities. She has been silently looking forward to the opportunity
to perform since then. She admitted that Cheung Kai Chung was her biggest
reward in the 20 years since her debut. He was also the first friend she
has met since entering the industry and her most trusted other half, so
she was very grateful.

The Dayo Wong Tze Wah and Michael Hui Koon Man starred Emperor
Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) will be released on November
14th, and the conversation of the century between the two superstars will
be broadcast on YouTube on September 28th. The film company took the lead
in releasing the trailer for the conversation, with Michael calling Tze
Wah "Brother Tze Wah". Tze Wah could not help but laugh in embarrassment.
Michael explained, "I have a special type of respect for you. Someone in
Hong Kong actually dares to do stand-up comedy in Cantonese!"
Regarding Michael as his idol, Tze Wah boldly asked Michael if his
outstanding achievements in film and television made him "a success at a
young age?" Michael said, "Being able to make money is what makes you
successful at a young age. I couldn't make money at that time."
Speaking of Tze Wah and Hui Koon Man working together again on a
movie since THE MAGIC TOUCH (SUN SUEN) 32 years ago, both looked forward
to it very much. Tze Wah said, "People who have high demands on comedy
may be very suitable for making tragedies." Michael pointed out, "I feel
like you have a responsibility to do something for Hong Kong." Speaking
of the reasons for this collaboration, Tze Wah said, "I have never seen a
movie that dares to face this subject in Hong Kong." Hui Koon Man
revealed that THE LAST DANCE's story was very touching. Tze Wah also
revealed that Hui Koon Man's performance was worthy of everyone's
anticipation, "I haven't seen Hui Koon Man like this in other movies."
The film had many scenes that were shot on location at a funeral parlor.
Tze Wah said, "Because I trained at TVB, I felt pretty comfortable
outside the International Funeral Parlor." Before the trailer ended, Tze
Wah said to Hui Koon Man, "Do you still have a girlfriend?" Then they
kept laughing.
In addition to denying that he has cancer, Chin Siu Ho also revealed that he finally bought insurance when he retired at the age of 60 last year. (China Times)
Chin Siu Ho (left) went to attend a charity event with artist Lin Daiying (right) courtesy of mingpao.com
The 61-year-old actor and martial arts stuntman Chin Siu Ho has
become extremely thin in recent years, which has caused concern about his
health. He was even rumored to be suffering from cancer. Chin Siu Ho did
a live stream broadcast earlier. People online focused on his frail
figure and urged him to take care of himself. Anthony Wong Chau Sun also
posted a message of concern on social media platforms, hoping that
everything would be well with him and he was in good health. Chin Siu Ho
recently went to Taiwan to attend a charity event and clarified the cancer
rumors. He explained that he lost weight because he was in quarantine
when he returned to the mainland during the epidemic, he did not eat well
and his appetite decreased. He said he was happy and energetic. He had a
physical examination every year, he only had a slight glaucoma problem in
his eyes.
Chin Siu Ho attended a charity event in Taiwan and charity
ambassador Lin Daiying was also present, calling on everyone to lend a
helping hand to help disadvantaged groups. Chin Siu Ho greeted the media
in high spirits and personally smashed the cancer rumors. He pounded his
chest and said that he was very healthy, "Look how energetic I am!" He
said that the rumors were not true, so he never thought of making a special
explanation. He said that he lost weight because during the epidemic in
the past few years, he traveled between Hong Kong and the mainland for
work and had to be quarantined in a hotel for 21 days each time. Because
he did not like the food, he only ate one meal a day. Over time, his
appetite gradually became smaller. "I'm fine, I am very happy and
energetic everyday."
Chin Siu Ho said that he weighed 176 pounds at his heaviest and is
now about 138 pounds. In terms of health, everything is fine. "Look at
how energetic I am. I have a health checkup every year. I have some minor
problems. I have a slight glaucoma problem in my eyes. Just use eye drops
and I am good". He said that when he saw Anthony Wong Chau Sun's post, he
immediately contacted him. "Everyone is very concerned about me. We were
classmates in elementary school and have always been in contact."
However they have never worked together despite being in the Hong Kong film
and television industry for many years. Chin Siu Ho joked: "He is too
deranged, and he always performs deranged scenes." He said that the two
of them are very familiar and often joke in private.
Chin Siu Ho mentioned that he has mild glaucoma, an occupational
injury caused by filming martial arts movies when he was young. His back
would hurt every time it rained. He joked that this was also his special
ability to predict rain. He also revealed that earlier when he got his
hair cut, his hairstylist discovered two black spots on his scalp; so he
went to see a doctor to shave his head and take a tissue test. At that
time, he was misunderstood as suffering from cancer and undergoing
chemotherapy. He said the result was normal. "I had a test three months
ago, there is nothing wrong with my intestines and stomach." He said that
he entered the entertainment industry at the age of 16 and filmed many
martial arts fight scenes. Because of this, he was unable to buy
insurance. He did not start taking out insurance until he was 60 last
year. "I was shooting action scenes when I was young, so many insurances
were not available. When I retired at 60, I wanted to buy them even if they
were more expensive. In the end the insurance agent said that 60 years
old was about right."
Lin Daiying met Chin Siu Ho for the first time and could not
express her surprise with words. "I am very happy and surprised. I grew
up watching Brother Siu Ho's movies. I never expected to see him appear
in front of me. Brother Siu Ho is really a very cheerful, lively and
low-key person who can get along well with everyone, which is incredible."
Chin Siu Ho taught Lin Daiying to speak Cantonese and strictly required
her pronunciation to be standard. Lin Daiying will hold a charity concert
at the end of the year, and she enthusiastically invited Chin Siu Ho to
come to Taiwan to participate, but Chin Siu Ho hilariously refused,
"I don't have time, I don't want to come."

times. It turned out that she was seriously ill, and it was only today
that her two older sisters sent the news that she had passed away. Ko Miu
Sze, have a safe journey!"
Ko Miu Sze was a student in the first TVB artist training class,
later became a TVB artist and has filmed many dramas like MOVE ON, CHOR
LAU HEUNG, THE LEGEND OF THE BOOK AND SWORD. MOVE ON starred Angie Chiu
Nga Chi, Ko Miu Sze, Chong Man Ching, Yeung Sze Tai and Ching Ho Wai. It
became very popular after it aired in 1975. Yeung Sze Tai sang the theme
song of the same name, which also became well-known in the streets. In
the 1990s Ko Miu Sze and her husband immigrated to Italy and retired from
the entertainment industry. The two have been together without any
children. In recent years, Ko Miu Sze has stayed in Hong Kong most of the
time due to her mother and the pandemic, gathering with friends in the
industry from time to time.

The Hong Kong film and television market has been deteriorating.
The past rush of film companies to start shooting Lunar New Year films has
become a thing of the past. This year only the Albert Mak Kai Kwong directed
JUNG NUI SEH (MIDDLE AGED WOMEN DORMITORY) was in preparation. The film
was not originally targeted for the Lunar New Year release; if the
change was not made thought, next year Hong Kong would have zero Lunar New
Year films. The situation was quite serious!
Every year Lunar New Year is a must battleground for film
companies. In the early years, many Lunar New Year movies started filming
in August and September. However, this year it has been surprisingly
quiet. Even earlier the publicly announced Lunar New Year film with guy
group MIRROR member Edan Lui Cheuk On will be postponed. So far only the
One Cool Pictures and Entertaining Power invested JUNG NUI JEH (MIDDLE
AGED WOMEN DORMITORY) has been in preparation. Mak Kai Kwong, the director
of the 2024 Lunar New Year film ROB N ROLL (LUM SI GIP ONG), would direct.
Director Mak recently admitted that he was preparing a new film,
and bluntly said that this time he was asked to make a Lunar New Year film
because of a critical situation: "This film of ours wasn't a Lunar New
Year film originally, but next year will have no Hong Kong Lunar New Year
films next year so the decision was made to make the switch. I hope it
would be able to start production next month." He said that he only
accepted the film in July this year. Because funding had to continue to
be raised, he was unable to apply for the Hong Kong Film Development Fund
in time and he applied elsewhere. In addition to filming in Hong Kong,
the film will also shoot in Macau. Director Mak pointed out that the
investment amount this time would not be as much as ROB last year, but he
will do his best to make a film that would be rich in Hong Kong flavor.
The Hong Kong film industry has been as quiet as ever, and
everyone on and off the stage is trying to find other ways. On the other
hand, Malaysia has become more and more prosperous in recent years. Three
New Year films were shot there earlier, including the Anita Yuen Wing Yee
(Len Len) starred MOM'S BIG NEWS (OMG! AH MA YAU HEI), Louis Cheung Kai
Chung's I WANT TO BE RICH (JO GOR YAU CHIN YUN) and Bobby Auyeung Chun Wa's
MONEY GAMES (BOON GUNG BAK LEUNG). The boss of the production that
invested in MOM's and RICH, Malaysian actor Tong Binyu spoke about so many
Hong Kong teams coming to Malaysia to film movies recently. She said
bluntly, "Malaysians really like to watch Hong Kong movies, so when Hong
Kong artists come here they are very popular. In addition the government
has launched many preferential measures for foreign investors, including
any investment of more than 5 million would be eligible to receive more
than 30% of the production fee. It is very attractive, but they should
pay attention to the quota. Applications for each place can no longer be
approved after a certain number each year. Hong Kong seems to have
already reached its quota this year."
Two Lunar New Year films that Tong Binyu's company has invested in
have also been scheduled to be released next year, basically turning into a
competition against themselves. However she was still confident and
praised both Yuen Wing Yee and Cheung Kai Chung as good actors. "Yuen
Wing Yee is great. After reading the MOM'S script, she decided to turn
down a TV series offer and came to Malaysia to start production. I
remember the first day when she joined the crew, many of the staff were
relatively young. They knew that Len Len was famous for being very
demanding, so everyone was worried that she would be very mean and also
mentally prepared to adjust the lines. In the end, we filmed for more
than 20 days. She said that our script was great and knew exactly
what effect it wanted, so she didn't change a line of dialogue from
beginning to end."

"The Federation of Motion Film Producers of Hong Kong Ltd.", in
accordance with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' selection
criteria for the "Oscar Best International Feature Film" competition,
decided to recommend the Soi Cheang Pou Soi directed, John Chong Ching,
Wilson Yip Wai Shun produced, Louis Koo in Lok, Raymond Lam Fung, Terrance
Lau Chun Him, Philip Ng Won Lung, Tony Wu Tsz Tung, German Cheung Man Kit
starred film TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI
SING) to represent Hong Kong in the "Best International Feature Film" at
the 97th Academy Awards. The film was a critical and commercial hit when
it was released in May this year, with a box office of over HK$ 100
million and second among the highest grossing Hong Kong Chinese language
films. The "Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film -- Hong
Kong selection committee" had to choose from all Hong Kong films released
between November 2023 and September 2024. TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED
IN received the most votes and was selected to represent Hong Kong in the
race.
TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN earlier was selected to take
part in the 77th Cannes Film Festival "Midnight Screening". Director
Cheang Pou Soi led Koo Tin Lok, Lam Fung, Lau Chun Him, Wu Tsz Tung and
Cheung Man Kit to attend the press conference and walk the red carpet.
The audience welcomed them. Now the film would represent Hong Kong in
the Oscars Best International Film race, director Cheang Pou Soi and many
of the leading actors were very excited to receive this good news.
Director Cheang Pou Soi said, "I'm very happy and honored!" Star Koo Tin
Lok responded that through this, Hong Kong's martial arts and sentiments
could be spread all over the world. "I'm so happy that the movie TWILIGHT
OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN would represent Hong Kong in the 'Best
International Feature Film' competition at the 97th Academy Awards. I feel
very honored. My first Hong Kong film to participate in the Oscars would
be able to bring Hong Kong's martial arts and sentiments to the whole
world, more people would get to know Hong Kong films; and at the same time
it can lead the new generation of actors to go international, which I am
very excited about."
Another lead actor Lam Fung also responded, "Thank you for your
appreciation of TWILIGHTS OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN, which even got the
opportunity to get into the Oscars. This film was the effort of the
entire team. I am honored to be able to participate." Lau Chung Him
credited the entire film's effort. "I hear that TWILIGHT OF THE
WARRIORS: WALLED IN has the opportunity to represent Hong Kong films at the
Oscars. I am grateful for the audience's support for this film and I am
very honored to participate. Regardless of the outcome, with the team's
concerted efforts, today's results is already the greatest affirmation for
us."
Ng Won Lung responded, "My first reaction was very surprised and
excited. Growing up watching Hong Kong kung fu movies in the United
States, I never expected that Hong Kong kung fu movie I starred in might
end up back in the U.S. at the Oscars. Thank you very much to the
TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN team for their contribution." Wu Tsz
Tung hoped tht the opportunity to compete at the Oscars would give the
Hong Kong film industry even more motivation to make Hong Kong movies.
German Cheung Man Kit also hoped that even more people would like Hong
Kong movies and Hong Kong action movies through this.
Stephen Chow (circle) posts a photo of Shi Banyu on social media and expresses his condolences courtesy of singtao.com
Stephen Chow Sing Chi's official Mandarin voice actor Shi
Banyu passed away in Beijing on Tuesday morning (the 17th) at age 66. Sing
Yeh two nights ago on social media posted Shi Banyu's photo and a message
of condolences. "I will always miss You Mr. Shi Banyu."
Shi Banyu was originally named Shi Renmao. Born in Taiwan in
1958, in 1991 he provided his voice for Sing Yeh for the first time in
ALL FOR THE WINNER (DOH HUP)'s Mandarin version and became Sing Yeh's
official voice actor since then. He provided his voice to Sing Yeh's movies
like FIGHT BACK TO SCHOOL (TOH HOK WAI LUNG), FLIRTING SCHOLAR (TONG BAK
FU DIM CHAU HEUNG), GOD OF COOKERY (SIK SUN), KING OF COMEDY (HEI KET JI
WONG), SHAOLIN SOCCER (SIU LUM JOOK KAU) and KUNG FU HUSTLE (GUNG FU).
When Sing Yeh went to Taiwan to make commercials subsequently, Shi Banyu
provided his voice for all of them. His exaggerated laughter even became
the trademark. Sing Yeh once expressed that Shi Banyu's voice dubbing was too
exaggerated, but he was also very grateful to him vas he said that Shi
Banyu's voice spread his movies throughout the Chinese communities.
Shi Banyu two years ago was rumored to suffer from a persistent
cough and severe weight loss. After examination, he was diagnosed with
pulmonary aspergillosis. In June this year he threw out the first pitch
for the Chinese Professional Baseball League, thus the news of his
passing shocked many. Shi Bny's final social media post said, "Dear old
friends and new friends: I am in a rush to go to another world to open a
recording studio so I won't playing with everyone for now. I am leaving
first Bye Bye."

LOVE LIES actors, director and producer pose for photos with the audience

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Emotion Cheung Kam Ching, Kilby Chan Chiu

yesterday along with director Ho Miu Ki
and producers Chan Hing Kai and Janet Chun Siu Chun attended the LOVE LIES
(NGOR TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI) audience appreciation show. The new film
opened last Thursday, as of 3:30 PM yesterday its cumulative box office
exceeded HK$ 5 million. Peter Chan Ho Sun showed his support for his wife
Ng Kwan Yu, as the couple formed a heart gesture together. Ng Kwan Yu
felt that with the current slump film is in, she was already very happy
with such a box office performance for the new film. She hoped that it
would last until October 1st national day when all Hong Kong cinema
tickets would be half price and even more viewers would be able to enjoy
the film. Ng Kwan Yu joked that she hoped her 18 year old daughter
Jillian Chan Si Ji would accumulate the "romance scam" experience early
on, that if she would be fooled she should be fooled early on as it would
hurt more when she got older. Cheung Kam Ching asked "Mobile
Entertainment" artist Ho Kau while talking about his character why his
boss Ronald Cheng Chung Kei did not attend. Ho Kau joked that the boss
would have concerts to perform. Cheng Chung Kei also helped and played
Ng Kwan Yu's ex in the film.
Ng Kwan Yu said that LOVE LIES was about online fraud. This time a
new director was at the helm, and the subject of online scam
was both fresh and relevant. She also said that many viewers shared their
experiences of being scammed during the event. She was the
most concerned about whether any viewer has been deceived for sex. She
said that she has also experienced phone scams. "I once received a
recorded phone call asking me whether I wanted to listen in Cantonese or
Mandarin. I chose Cantonese, but the people who answered the call all
spoke Mandarin; at least lie better. I had time so I played along with
him, I even asked him to find someone who could speak Cantonese then hung
up. Then he called me again and asked me why I hung up. That was really
funny, while scamming people he was copping this attitude."
Kwan Yu felt that the new film was like a cautionary film. After
watching it, the mother of her daughter's classmate said that she would
recommend it to their friends to avoid being deceived.
Cheung Kam Ching said that some viewers had seen it five times
already. He said that he would also bring his 19-year-old daughter to the
theater because he thought her daughter was easily deceived. He was
the most concerned that his daughter would be fooled and hurt her
fragile heart, but he neither knew nor dared to ask his daughter if she
was dating.
Kwan Yu and her daughter Jillian Chan Si Chi got along like
friends and talked about everything, but she lamented that Jillian was
still not dating, "A 18 or 19 years old girl needs to have a love life.
(Does she have a crush on someone?) Her personality is a bit arrogant.
Since she was 4 years old, I have asked her if she liked any
classmates. When she was little she did. Once she grew up, I again
asked her if she has met anyone she was interested in; alas she has not.
Next year she will go to college; I hope whether she fools someone or
someone fools her, they would all be an experience as long as no one
got their hearts broken." She and Cheung Kai Chung said in unison that
they would pay close attention to their daughters' every move.
Speaking of the national day, all theater tickets in Hong Kong
would be half-price. Kwan Yu felt that it would be a good thing and hoped
that LOVE LIES would run until the national day. She has learned that
some viewers have watched it five times, and her daughter has also watched
it twice. Because Jillian admired her and Papa, Peter Chan Ho Sun, she
would watch all of her parents' movies. She also revealed that her
daughter wanted to participate in on screen performances and will study
performing. Will Jillian be her successor? Kwan Yu said, "I don't know
how funny she is. She is more serious, and she must be as lucky as us to
be able to."
Stars like Donnie Yen, Daniel Wu Nicholas Tse, and Wu Kang-Ren shot videos to show their support courtesy of singtao.com
The Hong Kong Theaters Association is committed to promoting Hong
Kong cinema culture and supporting the Hong Kong film industry. It hopes

"10.1 Movie Fiesta Half Price Spectacular" event. During the national day
holiday on October 1st, all screenings in 59 commercial theaters in Hong
Kong will be half-price, regardless of the screening format and theater
tickets. Viewers who would enter the theater on that day would not only
enjoy half-price movie tickets for more than 80 movies, but would also be
able to participate in the "Scratch Extravaganza" for a chance to win more
than 2,000 prizes. This event also attracted many heavyweight superstars
to film videos and support the Hong Kong cinema industry.
In order to thank the audience for their support of the "10.1 Movie
Fiesta Half Price Spectacular" event, the Hong Kong Theaters Association
would also held the "Scratch Extravaganza" event, giving away more than
2,000 rich prizes and over a thousand free movie tickets in the form of
scratch off cards to bring a double surprise to the audience for
taking practical actions to support the Hong Kong cinema industry.
Viewers who purchase movies tickets on October 1st will receive a scratch
off card and have the opportunity to win instant rewards including free
movie tickets, theater concession vouchers, popcorn and soda, etc. 10
lucky winners will win the grand prize of 75 free movie vouchers and
be able to choose their favorite movies to watch at any time. They hoped
that movie watching will become a daily pastime and entertainment
experience for more citizens. For viewers who fail to win the prize, their
scratch off cards will also have dialogues from different movie printed on
them as a souvenir.
The Hong Kong Theater Association Chairman Timothy Yuen Yin Man
said, "This is the second year that we have organized the "10.1 Movie Fiesta
Half Price Spectacular" event to encourage the public to "go to the
theater and watch movies" through discounted ticket prices, try different
screening formats and enjoy the audio-visual effects in VIP theaters. At
the same time, they could hold the lucky drawing to provide additional
discounts and surprises to the audience. They hoped to increase the
atmosphere and sense of involvement in the entire event and create a
wonderful and interesting movie-watching experience for the public."
The Hong Kong Theaters Association will continue to promote cinema culture
throughout Hong Kong, hoping that members of the public actively
participated in the "10.1 Movie Fiesta Half Price Spectacular" event to
support the Hong Kong cinema industry.
This event has won the support of many heavyweight superstars and
entertainers' video support, including international martial arts
superstar Donnie Yen Chi Tan, director Gordon Chan Ka-shang, Nicholas Tse

them, the three Chinese-language films released in September, including
LOVE LIES (NGOR TAM DIK NA CHEUNG LUEN OI), ONCE IN A BLUE MOON (MONG
MUET) and THE CHRONICLES OF LIBIDOISTS, also have actors representing the
films in videos. Viewers would also be able to purchase movie tickets at

Veronica casually downloads a dating app for some harmless fun. Little

inadvertently joined a group of online scammers led by the oddball
