The movie BACK TO THE PAST (CHUM CHUN GEI) held a promotional launch ceremony at Ngong Ping 360 yesterday with Louis Koo Tin Lok (Goo Jai), Raymond Lam Fung, Jessica Hester Hsuan (Suen Huen), Sonija Kwok Sin Nei, Joyce Tang Lai Ming, Michael Miu Kiu Wai (Sam Gor), Timmy Hung Tin Ming, Eric Tsui Ho Cheong (Fat Cheong), Ng Wing Sze and director Lai Chun Lung in attendance, attracting hundreds of tourists and fans to watch. Goo Jai and Lam Fung's "master and apprentice" appearance was very popular. Lam Fung said that making BACK TO THE PAST with Koo Tin Lok after 20 years, he felt that they both became more mature on and off screen. "Our relationship in the film would have a perfect explanation." When Suen Huen, Kwok Sin Nei and Tang Lai Ming were on the same stage, the audience was in an uproar and evoked a lot of memories. The three of them were so more excited that they hug each other. Kwok Sin Nei said with a smile that after more than 20 years, she has changed from a "girl version of Kam Ching" to a "young woman version of Kam Ching". Suen Huen and Kwok Sin Nei hoped that BACK TO THE PAST would make a sequel and add more women's and family scenes. They joked that they would not mind Goo Jai "marrying" Tang Lai Ming to enjoy the blessings.
From the TV version to the movie version, BACK TO THE PAST was promoted for the first time after 24 years. Goo Jai said that he was happy to see everyone relive the TV series, and it has been 6 years since the filming of the movie version everyone was really happy to get together again. He laughed and said that watching the movie clips to promote the movie brought back a lot of memories every day. Would he want TVB To air A STEP INTO THE PAST again? He pointed out that it would be very convenient for audiences to watch dramas and movies online, and there would be no need to be limited by TV time slots.
Lam Fung also admitted that it also brought back a lot of memories, because he has not promoted with so many actors who have known each other for more than 20 years. He was also looking forward to collaborating with elder Sam Gor, even if the Sam Gor played "Ken" assassinated him in the film he would not mind. Speaking of people on the internet saw through this as "Jing Ke assassinates King of Qin", Lam Fung admitted that this was a "gimmick". He also pointed out that the role was titled "Ken Gor" for a different meaning. Goo Jai asked the audience to go to the cinema and watch the movie. Sam Gor laughed and said that he was wrongfully "imprisoned" 20 years ago and did not appear, and he was honored to participate in the performance at the invitation of Goo Jai.
The movie broke the "urban legend" and would be released on New Year's Eve, Goo Jai said that he would promote it in Beijing and Guangzhou. He would even attend the count down to New Year's Eve in Guangzhou. Lam Fung also said that the would attend a countdown for the first time to promote a film. Speaking of the box office goal, Goo Jai bluntly said that he was confident, but did not have a specific goal. Would he want to break the box office record of WARRIORS OF FUTURE (MING YUT JIN GEI)? He said that he has already done his best when the movie was finished, the box office would depend on the audience's support. Of course the more the better, but he also lamented that the global box office. He hoped that the audience would come to the theater to support it. This time evokes memories of the audience, would he think that this movie would be able to save the market? He said, "It is useless to save it once, only a long term rescue would be useful. The audience would still need to come and support it."
Goo Jai pointed out that after the movie release, he would go to theaters to thank the audience. There would be a special audience cosplay screening, as he hoped to make it like a party that would span different eras. When asked if he would sing "The Highest Destiny" with Lam Fung to distribute benefits? He laughed and said that Lam Fung could sing solo, or for Sam Gor to sing it would be the most special. Sam Gor laughed and said, "I can, I learned to sing from Ah Fung!"
Speaking of Goo Jai's transitional housing visit on winter solstice to have poon choi with the victims of Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Goo Jai said that he did not want to talk more about it. Would he charter a screening to comfort the victims? Goo Jai emphasized that this would require long-term care to work, and he hoped to do it as low- key as possible.
Suen Huen, Kwok Sin Nei and Tan Lai Ming reunited after a long absence for six years, hugged each other excitedly and felt that it took them too long to reunite. Suen Huen said that she felt even happier to make a movie version after more than 20 years, as it would be a childhood memory for the audience. The three of them were praised for freezing their age, they looked at each other and joked that they were just slowing down aging and trying to "stay fresh". Suen Huen praised Tang Lai Ming for being the best maintained, and Kwok Sin Nei admitted that maintenance has been the most difficult after having a child.
Kwok Sin Nei recalled that when she was filming the TV version, she was not familiar with Suen Huen and Tang Lai Ming so she was very afraid. However when making the movie they were already like old friends. Tang Lai Ming was still happy because the filming of "LO AND BEHOLD" needed to be accommodated, saying that if the sequel would be filmed she would be willing to check her schedule again. Suen Huen laughed and said that with a good box office they could make another, because the subject matter still had a lot of room for development. The three revealed that their BACK TO THE STEP participation was completely due to Koo Tin Lok's personal invitation. During the shoot he had many jobs, so he was tense and worn on the set. They did not dare to say more but they did not feel that they have had their fill. The three suggested that the sequel should add more women's dramas and family scenes, and Suen Huen and Kwok Sin Nei would not mind that Goo Jai "married" Tang Lai Ming and enjoyed the blessings.
In addition Suen Huen previously posted a hand-holding photo on the Internet, Kwok Sin Nei and Tang Lai Ming congratulated her on the spot when they learned about it. Suen Huen hurriedly clarified that the other party was a female friend, emphasizing that she was still single and welcomed suitors. Suen Huen with THE QUEEN OF CASTLE would compete with THE QUEEN OF NEWS 2's Charmaine Sheh Sze Man, Suen Huen pointed out that the other nominees were also very good. She has also watched DID.12. Would the release of BACK To THE PAST help her win awards? She pointed out that she might not be able to attend the award ceremony due to work. She would leave the award to fate, as she did not make dramas for awards and really enjoyed the process. Yet after winning once she would not mind winning a second time. Kwok Sin Nei joked, "Even if you won't be there you can still win! Isn't it supposed to be fair?"
Suen Huen expressed online after the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fire that she could foster some small animals and revealed that she has received messages asking for help. "Now I am still checking to see if anyone needs help." Suen Huen's uncle Robert Chua Wah Peng was caught in a fur controversy, but she was unwilling to comment. "Everyone have the freedom to do what they like, you can't force others." In addition, Kwok Sin Nei's former rumored boyfriend Michael Tao Dai Yu earlier got married again. She graciously responded, "Congratulations!"
