The two Hong Kong Christmas film releases PASS AND GOAL (YIK JUEN SEUNG BOON CHEUNG) and GOLDEN BOY (GUM TUNG) joined hands to hold a joint audience appreciation event the day before yesterday. GOLDEN BOY star Louis Cheung Kai Chung, PASS AND GOAL director Jill Wong Pak Kei, actors Peter Chan Charm Man, Sin Cheuk Kiu, Tam Chun Yin, etc., communicated with the audience at the theater up close and presented autographed movie jersey jackets.
Once playing brothers in the TABLE FOR SIX (FAN HEI GUNG SUM) movie series, Cheung Kai Chung and Chan Charm Man reunited. Cheung Kai Chung said emotionally, "I am very happy to see Hong Kong films showing the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance, and the two movies support each other and thank the audiences together. Thank you to so many viewers for coming. I hope you will continue to support Hong Kong movies, as well as Chan Charm Man's PASS AND GOAL. If you watch both movies, your fighting spirit will definitely be stronger, and you will be invincible in 2026." Chan Charm Man also shared, "When I played Ah Chung's third brother in TABLE FOR SIX, I already knew about the filming of GOLDEN BOY. Seeing him beginning to shrink from his most bloated, he used his life to sell the passion throughout the entire film. Everyone please continue to support Cheung Kai Chung. He boxed in the film, and I coached soccer in the film; both of which are high-energy sports movies. Thank you all for staying to consume in Hong Kong and supporting Hong Kong movies."
In addition, some people questioned that some of the audience appreciation sessions of PASS AND GOAL were only attended by young actors and did not meet the audience's expectations. Director Wong Pak Kei responded, "I know that the audience has different expectations for the arrangement of the audience appreciation shows, and I respect the comments from the outside world on the promotion strategy. Yet at the same time, I hope everyone would understand that the young actors who attend the audience appreciation events are also a part of the work that completes the work with care. The young actors themselves are also important roles, and for the actor thanking the audience is not just a job. They hope to listen to the audience's impressions firsthand, absorb experience and learn from it. I hope that the outside world will be more considerate to avoid causing psychological pressure on the young actor."
Child actor Tam Chun Yin played Fat B in the film. His mother through social platform expressed that as a parent she respected everyone's experience from the angle of the audience, but pointed out that young actors were not big stars. Three of them have never acted before, from casting to training and performing they have contributed their sincerity and effort to complete the film. The opportunity to see everyone on the stage was a learning and growth process, as well as a very important step to chase their dreams. She thanked each viewer who still has been supporting Hong Kong films at the cinemas, willing to discuss and give advice. She hoped that one day everyone would feel proud of this group of young actors. Another actor Sin Cheuk Kiu's mother also posted to thank viewers who went to support the movie for being willing to provide valuable suggestions. She has witnessed 5 young actors under the blazing sun and rain, the stars and the moon, tan as dark as coal but always carried the never give up spirit to complete each shoot to the best of the abilities. The blood and the tears would be unforgettable experience in the hearts of each young actor.
