[2025.12.27] EDDIE CHEUNG WINS ANOTHER AWARD WITH REBORN, HAS RETIREMENT PLANNED

Eddie Cheung has won awards repeatedly with the film REBORN.

Eddie Cheung Siu Fai earlier with the film REBORN (HUNG SUM YUN) won Best Actor at the Vancouver Chinese Film Festival. Recently he again won the Golden Lotus Excellent Actor Awards at the 17th Macau International Movie Festival and 16th Macau International Television Festival. He happily said that he was rather surprised, and thanked the audience for their support and recognition of REBORN. How would he celebrate? He joked that the way would be very simple. First he would quietly meditate at home, savor the production memories and feel already very pleased; however he would have dinner with family, raise a glass and share the joy.

Speaking of future goals, Cheung Siu Fai said, "I have already made retirement plans. In recent years I only want to do my best. When I run into good roles I would work hard. I hope to keep giving the audience a sense of freshness in recent years, and also myself some memories in the future." As for the challenges of making REBORN, he said there were many difficulties. "Fortunately director (Danny) Pang Fat before the production began communicated in depth with us about what the roles required, so the performance difficulty dropped to its lowest and we were even more able to full devote to every scene." He said that even though that emotions in the film were heavy and heart breaking, when he met the director's demands, when he thought about it afterward he would still enjoy it. He said that over the month after the production wrapped, once in silence unpleasant part from the film would still surface. He would take the initiative and ask friends to chat or run so he would not drown himself in the film and slowly be able to leave the role.
