This year Hong Kong film Lunar New Year slot would be very cheery. THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG), GOLDEN CHICKEN SSS (GUM GAI SSS), FROM VEGAS TO MACAU (DOH SING FUNG WON) and HELLO BABIES (LUK FUK HEI SI) would battle, no one would know which one would have an advantage before the opening. Among them Sandra Ng Kwan Yu's Hong Kong production GOLDEN CHICKEN SSS grabbed all the hunks and hotties in show business. After the earlier revealed Nick Cheung Ka Fai, even Ip Man was invited. Donnie Yen Chi Tan for Kwan Yu made an exception and played Ip Man again, but he played Tony Leung Chiu Wai's "hat wearing Grandmaster" version. Kwan Yu even ignited his comedy genes.

GOLDEN CHICKEN returned again as this Lunar New Year's only 100% authentic Hong Kong Lunar New Year film. Without any co-production resources, it will star 100% Hong Kong actors. Kwan Yu hoped to continue Hong Kong nostalgia films and laughed through the Lunar New Year with the Hong Kong audience, thus the film put all of its efforts into create comedy. She even called in favors. She was surprised to learn that actually many Hong Kong actors had the same belief, thus no one declined her request. The entire film was shot in a little over a month, as it went very smoothly.

Kwan Yu earlier invited Yen Chi Tan to guest star. Although he was arranged to play his most familiar Ip Man, Kwan Yu made it more difficult as she asked him to play Leung Chiu Wai's THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) version. Wai Jai's Ip Man was the most memorable to taking on ten attackers in a hat in the rain. Kwan Yu this time played "Flower of War" to welcome the Grandmaster to visit Golden House even described the Grandmaster as "one messing with ten". The Grandmaster seriously corrected Golden House, "I would only fight against ten, I never visit any brothel."

Yen Chi Tan in order to support his friend Kwan Yu made an exception for her to play Ip Man again. He even imitated the Leung Chiu Wai version. In a hat Yen Chi Tan immediately became "Leung Chiu Wai possessed". He imitated Wai Jai's expressions and even delivered his lines while attacking Golden Chicken with Wing Chun. Kwan Yu despite all of her experience could not help but cracked up when she saw his almost motorized series of punches. Yen Chi Tan seriously said to Kwan Yu, "Don't laugh yet, soon it will be done. My old lady is waiting for me to eat at home!" Then he displayed his series of punches. Even Cissy Wang who was visiting the set praised her husband as being actually very funny and able to play more comedy in the future.

Yen Chi Tan said that because he looked more serious, when Kwan Yu invited his to guest star in a comedy he was worried that he would become the bathroom break for the audience for not being able to make them laugh. Luckily Kwan Yu was a comedy master and drove him into becoming more active. With his wife cheering him on, after the shoot even he accepted the take and could consider making comedy films from now on.

Ng Kwan Yu even invited his old flame Alex To Tak Wai to play a gigolo, Fiona Sit Hoi Kei as her rival Marilyn Monroe, and even Jim Chim Shui Man who gave her a hilarious acupuncture treatment. She hoped that Hong Kong people would be able to celebrate the New Spring with more laughter.
