Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) recently worked on the film GET LOST! MR. TUMOR, which made 500 million RMB in the Mainland and gave Daniel the nickname "long legged god". He earlier returned to Hong Kong to promote the film and admitted that he did not expect the film to be such a big hit in the Mainland, because the film was small budget and the title was very strange.
As for being called "Long Legged God", he said, "What a bother! I am very bothered by the title of god because it isn't real. God has to be very perfect, I am only human." He admitted that no one would be a god in his mind, he liked people with flaws and features. If life was perfect it would be very dull. Will he work more in the Mainland in the future? He stressed that this time the story attracted him, and had nothing to do with geography or market; he also said that his salary was as it has always been. He said, "Many people feel that after a film becomes a hit the salary should be raised to the sky, but the ratio is incorrect. As a producer I understand very well, if an actor wants 80 million, from the business standpoint this film will have a lot of difficulty with success. It won't have any good influence." Daniel recently returned to Hong Kong to work on the Ringo Lam Lan Tung film TIN FOR (HEAVENLY FIRE). Later he will return to the U.S. for the next season of his American series and to take care of his father.
Daniel stated that he missed the days of making movies in Hong Kong. After making movies in different places, he felt that Hong Kong filmmakers were the best.
