[2011.10.12] GIDDENS KO EXPRESSES HIS LOVE FOR MICHELLE CHEN

Director Giddens Ko two nights ago held Michelle Chen and Ko Chen-Tung to promote their new film in Hong Kong.  During the interview he kept looking at Michelle Chen with admiration and admitted that he loved her and hoped to be linked to her in rumors.  However when reporters asked Michelle Chen to choose between the director and the lead actor she refused to choose Giddens Ko.

With four Golden Horse Award nominations, Taiwan film YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE two nights ago held a premiere in Hong Kong.  The film's director Giddens Ko, producer Angie Chai, leads Ko Chen-Tung, Michelle Chen and theme song performer Hu Xiao attended.  The event even arranged for 500 "students" in school uniforms and Hu Xia performed the theme song.  Then they posed with the students in a group photo.  Before the premiere began, the director, two leads and Hu Xiao even greeted viewers in the cinema.

The film's Golden Horse Best Actress nominee Michelle Chen was asked whether she was confident about winning.  She admitted that she was because she worked with Taiwan's most beautiful producer, the most immature director,and  the dumbest actor.  This was also the film that she was the most fortunate to be a part of, so whether she would win or not it did not matter.  Later at a media interview, Giddens Ko admitted that she was very happy to see the grand event two nights ago, but he was the happiest about the same complete version that was released in Taiwan would be released in Hong Kong.  The film had some controversial scenes that had to be cut when released elsewhere, which made him feel how great Hong Kong's freedom of speech was.  As for box office expectation, Giddens Ko said that he kept asking people what was considered good box office but many said that there was no standard.  He believed that 10 million would already be great.  As for the film's four Golden Horse nominations, he said that Angie Chai promised him NT$1 million per award as encouragement.  He too wanted to win the cash, did he prefer money over the award?  He said, "I want both, because it was my first movie I want an award too.  However awards are not up to me to decide."  As for his next film, he said that it will have to be two to three years later because he will need to come up with the story.  However he might not make a sequel because he absolutely will not have a wretched sequel to a fine work.

When Michelle Chen was interviewed, Giddens Ko kept looking at her with admiration.  The 28 year old Michelle Chen looked like she was 23.  He said, "She is 28, isn't she very cute?  Super cute, she really doesn't look 28.  (Do you admire Michelle Chen very much?)  It's not admiration, it's love.  She truly is very cute, so I don't even have to consider her as the female lead.  However I had to be selective with the male lead."  He also said that he really wanted to be linked to her in rumors, but the Taiwan media refused to write it.  Thus he hoped the Hong Kong media would write it.  As for the director's public expression of love, Michelle Chen also joked, "I too love the director very much because the director and the actor should have love between them."  Then between Ko Chen-Tung and Giddens Ko which one would she love?  Giddens Ko kept saying, "Pick me!"  She said, "It's very hard to choose because both are Ko Ching-Teng (the character in the film)!"  As for Shen Chia0=-Yi who Michelle Chen played, the real person already saw the film and thought that she was better in the film than in actual life.  In addition, Michelle Chen thought that
Hong Kong guys were very efficitent and talked very fast while girls were very professional; Ko Chen-Tung described both as "trendy".
