Kwai Lun-Mei in the film STARRY STARRY NIGHT played the grown up Siu Mei. In one scene she headed to Paris to visit her divorced mother (Rene Liu) and ran into something memorable. Although this scene was only 3 minutes long, the team still flew to Paris to shoot it.
Kwai Lun-Mei said that she liked the script very much and was moved to tears. She said, "I love this character Siu mei, her experience was much like mine. Watching the character Siu Mei was like watching my own adolescence."
