The Alex Law Kai Yui and Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting directed SAM SING GEI (A TALE OF THREE CITIES) started production in Yi County, Anhui. The film is based on the real life experience of Jackie Chan's parents with Sean Lau Ching Wan and Tang Wei as its stars. The story took place in the 30s China and will shoot on location in Shanghai and other places.
The film was in planning as early as 2006, at the time Jiang Wen and Gong Li were invited to play Jackie Chan's parents. The production due to a variety of reasons was delayed again and again; in June this film finally got the green light with Lau Ching Wan and Tang Wei, Qin Hailu and Jing Boran in the film will have an older woman younger man romance. The film will document Jackie Chan's family history, including the suffering Jackie Chan's parents experienced during the war against Japanese Aggression and the civil war.
