THE WHITE STORM (SO DUK) opened on December 5th in Hong Kong with HK$ 1,935,752 at the box office, the biggest opening Chinese film box office so far in 2013. As of two days ago, THE WHITE STORM reached 128 million yuan RMB at the Mainland box office. The team will celebrate next Monday, as Thai transgender star Poyd was anxious to see her onscreen lover Nick Cheung Ka Fai.

Louis Koo Tin Lok and director Benny Chan Muk Sing earlier attended a film festival in Italy and made a wish in a wishing well for box office success. Chan Muk Sing said, "Due to the length of the film, some scenes had to be cut. They included scenes with Cheung Ka Fai's girlfriend (Elanne) Kong Yeuk Lam and Koo Tin Lok's dancing scene." Some online asked for the removed scenes to be screened online.
