Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Daniel Wu (Ng Cho Yin) and director Dante Lam Chiu Yin's film THAT DEMON WITHIN (MOR GAING) will open in April. The film title inevitably reminded people of a real police murder case that rocked Hong Kong, but actors Cheung Ka Fai and Ng Yin Cho clarified that this film was not related to that case. They only took the characters and the background as blue prints for an all new story. Ng Yin Cho said, "The director asked a question, why would a cop go overboard? The film started with this question. We imagined that his family background, childhood life and past events that would have driven him crazy, and how colleagues affected him......slowly we created an all new story."
Cheung Ka Fai said that during the film conception they tried to understand the police murder back then and discovered that it had a lot of psychological problems. Everyone were only speculating and no one knew the facts. Then they came up with a new angle for the story. He said, "In the end are what we see real?"
