Liu Yifei, Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Deng Chao spent three years to make THE FOUR (SEI DAI MING BO) film series. The final film THE FOUR 3 earlier was released. The new character was the Alec Su (So Yau Peng) played Emperor. Director Gordon Chan Ka Seung admitted that this time he felt a little guilty because the role did not have a lot of screen time. Chan Ka Seung said, "So Yau Peng has played the Emperor in THE ASSASSINS (TUNG JEUK TOI). I felt that he had quite the form so this time I asked him to the Emperor. I was very pleased with his performance and was a little sorry. His character did not have much story and his scenes were less in comparison. If he had more scenes he would be even more outstanding."
Liu Yifei had tons of fight scenes inthe film. She and Deng Chao had many touching emotional scenes. Chan Ka Seung praised them for cultivating emotions after being together for a long time, during the shoot their natural emotions flowed.
