The Performing Artist Guild officially announced that on January 3 2011 the Performing Artist Outstanding Performance of the Year Award will take place. Eight awards will be presented to film, television, radio and music. The judging standard will be the on screen artist must have outstanding performance, acting improvement and able to bring industry changes in the year.

Yesterday the top three of the eight awards were announced and the award was on display. Nominees Michelle Yim (Mai Shuet), Wai Ying Ying, Kent Cheng Juk Si and others attended. Did he feel that other awards were not representative enough so he decided to set up an award? President Eric Tsang Chi Wai said, "Because the Director's Guild and other groups have their own awards, we hope to select people who deserve encourage and have made the greatest contribution to show business in artists' eyes." Will they honor late elders like Wong Tin Lam? Chi Wai said that they would not because it was not an ordinary award show. Did he worry about artist difficulty about attendance? Chi Wai helplessly said, "I don't know, we will try to notify them. Even if they don't come they still get the award." In addition, that day will be Nat Chan Pak Cheung's birthday, Chi Wai revealed that he and Alan Tam Wing Lun bought a gift that will be able to take care of him for the rest of his life. Was it insurance? Chi Wai said, "We thought about buying an insurance policy that as long as he loses money it is effective, but this is not it. (Is it big?) Of course, how else can it take care of him for the rest of his life. He also has to keep a horse and gamble big!"

Cheng Juk Si was already very happy about the nomination but did not have much expectation, because this only encouraged artists to continue their hard work. Cheng Juk Si said, "It's not like the winner gets rich, like Lai Yiu Cheung. Although it brings ample income, it also gives another hope to artists who are lukewarm." Speaking of TVB Best Actor, earlier Chow Yun Fat picked him. Cheng Juk Si joked that he only showed his respect because he was old. He said, "I have no chance at TVB, everyone knows it's a game for their own children. Step children like us understand the rules of the game." Yet he hoped his co-star Raymond Wong Ho Yin will win because he performed very well.

Siu Hung will compete with Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei. Was she confident? Siu Hung said, "I am very afraid of competing against Ng Kwan Yu again! Actually I won't have a problem with anyone winning." Michelle also thought it was a joyous event. Although the
competition was strong, she would be happy for whoever won.
