    Hong Kong is just a ridiculous place that full of lies. In this prosperous city, there are a group of people that have to live in the ‘space capsule’, which are large seminar room that subdivided into small living rooms. In such a small living place, Tsz Hin is a popular online blogger that critics on property market in the cyber world. Unfortunately, he is in debt that can’t even pay for the housing rent in real life. In order to save money for paying the debt, Tsz Hin has to lives in ‘space capsule’, he even lied to his girlfriend for travelling New York to work as an intern. Tsz Hin begins to know other weird neighbors in this urban living places. Ah Fung, a triad member, He is frustrated in working as a grey goods dealer for making a living. One time, he joined a social stabilization event and accidentally defeated government official, and being portrayed as a people’s hero. Cheong, the ex-prisoner that back to his robbery business, which helped his friend Quan (who was a rapist) in saving a beauty’s life in a robbery incident. Ah Shing, a weird guy that having an unusual living operate columbarium business at the space capsule living area. He just accidentally found a 2 million rewarded lost dog. Ah Ming, the van driver that would like to find a nice place for having sex with girlfriend, he even amended his van as a motel for living in country park. It seems everything is just ready for them to enjoy, unfortunately it turns out they have to escape from a gun battle... This group of people are all struggling in fighting for their ideal lifestyle which shows the spirit of Hong Kong.

    One Summer day, in a sea-side town. One Junior high school is gathered with an excitement before a firework show. Norimichi and Yusuke, at a pool side, meets Nazuna, an idol of their class, a girl they both secretly have a crush on. The two boys turn out to have a swimming match with Nazuna. Norimichi, although fails the match, finds a mysterious ball in the water. On the other hand, Yusuke, who won the fight, is asked by Nazuna to go out to watch the firework show together. After school, while boys have an argument whether fireworks are round or flat when viewed from sideways, Norimichi is told by Nazuna that she was going to ask out the one who won the swimming match. However, her true purpose was something else.

    “If only I won the match thay day...”

    Irritated, Norimichi throws the ball he found in the water and then...

    May 1980. A Seoul taxi driver named Man-seob comes across an offer too good to be true. If he drives a foreign passenger from Seoul down to Gwangju and back again before the curfew, he'll be paid the unthinkable sum of 100,000 won – enough to cover several months of unpaid rent. Without stopping to ask the details, he picks up the German reporter Peter and sets off along the highway.

    Although stopped by police roadblocks at the edge of Gwangju, Man-seob is desperate to earn his taxi fare, and eventually manages to find a way into the city. There they encounter students and ordinary citizens taking part in large-scale demonstrations against the government. Man-seob, alarmed by the danger in the air, pleads with Peter to go quickly back to Seoul. But Peter ignores him, and with the help of a university student Jae-sik and a Gwangju taxi driver named HWANG, begins shooting with his news camera. As time passes the situation grows more and more serious, and Man-seob keeps thinking of his young daughter at home all alone.

    In 1963, illegal immigrant Howard snuck into Hong Kong. Equipped with guts and combat skills, he plunged into the underground world where he found how corrupt Hong Kong was as a colony under the British authority, and how the police were in collusion with the triads in a black money community.

    Howard struggled between two folks who came from his hometown – righteous police constable Gregory who was honest and refused to take bribes and Wayne, who was greedy, lustful and dishonourable. Howard chose to side with Wayne and joined the triads.

    After striving through much adversaries as being set up, betrayed and physically crippled, the once good-natured Howard has transformed into a monster. He became more atrocious than the most corrupted cops and more beastly than the most ruthless drug dealers. He finally emerged as the number one and most powerful Drug Lord under the control of the Chief Chinese Superintendent, Lionel.

    With the establishment of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) in year 1974, Lionel was forced into premature retirement, while Howard still would not be stopped, as he was determined to become the sole dictator in the drug empire...
