Simon Yam Tat Wa yesterday announced that he tested
positive! Brother Wa said that in order to keep from bringing
trouble to the Hong Kong government he kept doing the rapid test
every morning and night. At the end of June when he did the rapid
test as usual, he realized that he tested positive and immediately
self quarantined. In order to avoid infecting others, he went into
a nine day long at home quarantine. Now he has completely recovered
as the test results for five days in a row have been a "straight line"
(negative). He planned to resume work on his new film next week.
Brother Wa earlier due to rain did not work and rested at home
for many days. During the period he tested positive and immediately
entered self isolation. Earlier he worked on Alan Mak Siu Fai's
Emperor Motion Picture NOI MOK (INSIDE INFORMATION), which already
completed all of his shoot. Thus he did not affect the production's
progress. He also said that he already had three shots of the vaccine,
after being infected aside from a little back pain he only had a low
fever for a day and a half and no sore throat. Although his first
two days of rapid test came back positive, later they already turned
negative. He also did his part and reported to the government for
data collection, feeling that would accelerate the process of opening
the border. Luckily at the time Brother Wa's wife Qi Qi and daughter
Ella were not in Hong Kong. During his quarantine his domestic
helper left food and items outside his room. He also said that the
Hong Kong government has been great, sending him test packages and
anti pain medication, and calling him on schedule. Originally the
government intended on arranging for him to stay at a quarantine hotel,
but he was able to isolate from his domestic helper and thus he
quarantined at home. Now then he has recovered when he would return
to work? He revealed that next week he would resume work on his new
film CHIM HUNG (formerly titled CHEUNG CHUN JAU)).
